Surely changing the mentality is part of a broader blueprint/strategy that leads to success? The blueprint is success.
Once that is ingrained in the fabric of the club then everything else flows from that.
When CA first came he spoke about changing the mentality at the lub, that doesn't happen quickly or easily.

I don't agree really.Surely changing the mentality is part of a broader blueprint/strategy that leads to success?
I'm a bit lost as to how one goes, yeah, we're successful now, sorted. It's psuedo-psych guff that Bobby Martinez used to deal in.
Yes, but you build it up. It also help if you build up a fairly decent squad with the right mix. Including players who have or will adopt that mentality.I don't agree really.
I look at the mentality of our neighbours who expect to win every game no matter who the opposition is or no matter what team they put out.
The challenge for us is to get that mentality.
At present we are not confident of beating even teams from lower leagues.
I think that change will be gradual .
To be honest I really don’t think Rondon is the type of player Benitez would bring to a club if his hands were tied.. I don’t mean somebody else bought him I just think he needed somebody on a free.. he looked around and brought somebody he knew and trusted previously.. don’t forget the man bought Torres when he had sufficient funds..
I know what you are saying as regards a one voice one blueprint type of things but don’t you think that’s just looking for a perfect unobtainable utopia type thing.. what Club in the world has had a blueprint D.O.F. that has worked or evolved more than five years or so not even Barca or City have had one of those.. the other thing you have to consider is with these D.O.F people there would be no Busby.. Shanks.. Cloughie.. Paisley.. Stein.. Kendall,, Bobby Robson or Ferguson’s all footballing men of this world you would probably end up with good number twos who just train the players.. Colin Harvey.. Brian Kidd.. Roy Evans.. or dare I say it Steve McClaren.....
Good posting tho...
They're posting in here instead.Just a quickie, why aren't I getting the snowflakes on my screen.![]()
I can't remember saying it would be instantaneous, in fact I said it would be gradual.Yes, but you build it up. It also help if you build up a fairly decent squad with the right mix. Including players who have or will adopt that mentality.
So, yeah, wave the magic wand and say success without identifying what needs to be in place.
Phenomenal
Cool yeah, makes sense.I can't remember saying it would be instantaneous, in fact I said it would be gradual.
The first step is to stop changing managers every five minutes.
Any manager certainly cannot be assessed after just five months who had no money to spend in the last window.
Recruitment is key and as we all it has generally been wasteful in recent years
So my formula is
First... stop changing managers so often.
Second...sign younger players that can develop and improve.
Third....patience is called for , change will be gradual. The manager needs this season, next and probably the one after that.

We wouldn't have changed last manager if real madrid hadn't come for him. And other than maybe klopp and guardiola, possibly tuchel, not sure there would be any other managers in our league who wouldn't leave if they wanted them.I can't remember saying it would be instantaneous, in fact I said it would be gradual.

They have no option.I am usually against dictators, but you could have a point here.
Having a manager making the bulk of all major decisions could be our answer.
It will take time, and will not be pretty, so will the EFC hierarchy give him the time required?
