Conversely City were lining up Guardiola for a long time. So perhaps, strategically, they decided he was the man?

Equally, he's not averse to powerful but versatile forwards. Wanted Kane from Spurs and had Lewandowski at Bayern for example.

What catcher is saying is that we appear to have employed a man to set a blueprint, but then brought in managers of completely different outlooks and standing, thus rubbishing the blueprint.
I myself would’nt really call Kane and Lewandowski powerful myself no they certainly aren’t fast that’s for sure... dunno who fits the Bill for fast maybe Dembele at Barca.. Rashford at United.. or Traore at Wolves and powerful.. Lukaku at Chelsea .. maybe Dzeko at Inter.. ibrahimovic few years ago.. not many.. a lot of teams adopt this false number nine don’t they
I don't agree really.
I look at the mentality of our neighbours who expect to win every game no matter who the opposition is or no matter what team they put out.

The challenge for us is to get that mentality.
At present we are not confident of beating even teams from lower leagues.

I think that change will be gradual .
dont forget.. the team across the park has foundations last 15 years which never really dropped below 5th place so for Benitez..Rodgers.. Hodgson. Dalglish and then Klopp.. the base always had about five or six quality players to build up from.. Everton unfortunately havent so have to build from much further back.. how many top quality players has each of Evertons last five managers had a base to build from.. hardly any...

The mentality takes time over a period of years.. If you look at Benitez across the park.. he inherited a team under Houllier who was a usual Europa League side.. his first season they got knocked out the F.ACup against Burnley.. two weeks later Alan Hansen on Match of the Day said this Liverpool team is the worst in living memory.. four months later they became the worst team ever to win the Champions League since Steau Bucharest.. by the time Benitez left the team were the most feared Champions League side in the competition after smashing Madrid out of sight..
The point I am making is it took time.. not an over night thing and Benitez h
If Conte had replaced Benitez, do you think he would get more out of our players Kev?
Never mind Conte.. Pep wouldn’t even get a tune out of them...

You forgot Rondon mate, powered his way through the Chinese league for Dalian. Strange you overlooked him.
