Sorry mate you have lost me a bit there..
Quick question.. when Ferguson.. Kendall and Benitez careers are looked back on and are finally judged what order will they line up regarding who was the best given on what they won? You can’t use sentiment just facts...
And with that one post, any chance you had of trying to convince people you weren't a rs on the wind up was gone.

I don't think you understand football if you think the formation, tactics, zonal marking has been the same throughout all the games.
Well, the result to the eye looks the same , tedious defensive football, the same style he has employed throughout his career.
Even the RS fans I speak to comment on the tedious nature of his teams.
Former RS players commented on his appointment that Evertonians might find his style of football less than pleasing.
Those RS fans also noted his strange and often late substitutions, his constant tinkering and his frustrating predilections for useless players.
If you want a coach who can teach an otherwise good team to grind out results and turn a 4th place to a 3rd, then maybe he’s your man , if you can put up with his idiosyncrasies.
If you want a coach to build a club to play attacking football which always attempts to dominate the opposition and plays with fire in its belly, you need to look elsewhere.
I would much prefer to look elsewhere.

Don’t talk rubbish... just answer the question.. I have asked the question because when people make the point Benitez is in the same position as Kendall and Ferguson at the start of there managerial careers at Everton and United I get told Benitez is not in there class...

So I will ask again... from a neutral point of view in what order will Ferguson.. Kendall and Benitez be put in as regards winning trophies and success given how great a manager is judged on what they win... ?

Going back this notion that Benitez is a builder...

Valencia. Did incredibly well, two league titles. However, joined a club on an upward trajectory. Hector Cuper had them contesting the champions league final the two seasons prior. So arguably a very accomplished relatively successful squad to work with.

Liverpool. Took over from Gerrard Houllier (RIP). Recent treble Cup winners. A squad that clearly possessed a lot of talent. Incredible achievement to win the champions league (let's be honest here). Longest managerial stint in his career, some may argue he ultimately did not achieve as much as expected (I.e. a title). But that's harsh.

Inter. Followed on from an all conquering Jose Mourinho at the height of his powers. Again inherited an incredibly talented squad. Solid start, booted unceremoniously in the same season.

Chelsea. Interim appointment. Followed Di Matteo (lol). Di Matteo had squeezed a champions league and FA Cup win out of that squad the season prior. Again, a very talented squad to pick up the reigns with. Infrastructure in place. Delivered Europa league. Credit for picking up the reigns.

Napoli. Followed Walter Mazzari who had taken Napoli to the champions league, won a cup and finished second in Seria A in the previous season. Again, a not insignificant platform.

Real Madrid. Followed Ancelotti. Again, amazing squad. Loads of preceeding success. Unceremoniously punted.

Newcastle. A complete change of profile, arguably. Club in free fall. His first (only part) season ended in relegation. Creditable he brought them up and stabilised in the Premier League once more.

Dalian Pro. Another curve ball, as in, a very different profile of club and situation. Middling performance and left.

Everton. Absolute basket case of a club. Inherited patchy squad. Tasked with rebuilding.

Broadly, you can see that his successes, in terms of major trophies, have been on the back of an existing upwards trajectory.

But building a club from scratch to be winners? Less of a convincing record. @davek has already said it, he's here to stabilise. Essentially we're his Newcastle #2. Which is depressing for his career arc and for us.

How the mighty have fallen.

You just put the correct order.

You can look at this in broadly two ways.
1) He is being decisive. He understands its not working and is willing to take the steps needed to rectify this, even if it means making tough, challenging decisions.

2) He is deceiving people. Essentially saying the right things but will continue as we are.

If he does the former, he will get support. If hes pulling the wool over peoples eyes, people will legitimate criticise him.

Theres two ways i look at it...

A: He shifts out 6 players and signs 3 or 4 u23 high potential replacements.

B: He doesnt.

:)

We’re a mess all over the pitch and so far his decisive nature has included, and is limited to, booting out our decent LB to sign an unproven one. Marvellous stuff.

he's blatantly on no.2

a snake oil salesman of the worst kind. causing untold damage under the cover of 'necessary change'

1st Ferguson
2nd Kendall

But that may have been different if there wasnt a european ban.

Benitez clearly isnt in the same hemisphere.

You do realise Benitez is Spanish?
