His dithering, intense scouting and medicals would have saved us about £300m over the last few years.
He was hardly infallible, Per Koldrup, Simon Davies, Richard Wright, Van Der Meyde, Ibrahim Said, Anderson Silva to name a handful, should even put James Beattie in there tbh.
That’s not to say he didn’t have his successes too, the ones that were good tended to be very good, but he didn’t half recruit some dross to go with it.

The Chinese lads lol lol

Well yeah, but that was all blown out of proportion. A stupid thing to say, but he hardly lambasted the club.

That said, didn’t he turn down offers from the likes of Celtic and Spurs when he was here? Pretty sure there were quite a few others.

I also don’t buy the LVG thing at all. I have always felt Ferguson deliberately set it up so Moyes would take over as they had quite a close relationship.
Personally think SAF and Utd had a really bizarre continuity plan, it seemed that Ferguson just thought that's it, I'm done Moyes is perfect, let's do it. I thought at the time it was a bit remiss of them bearing in mind the "empire" that had been built. Then Moyes went in and took away all sense of continuity by essentially stripping the backbone of the boot room and bring in his own team, which yes you would expect t but at least keep a semblance of what had gone before.

I was gutted when Moyes left, as we had stability if not much in the way of glory and it seemed like a "well where do we go from here" moment for me and sadly it has been like that since and I've lived through Kendall era so I know what glory feels like.

Having said that, he did "do us down" a bit with his behaviour afterwards which was uncalled for but perhaps indicative of being let loose in Harrods after scrimping in Lidl?

I dont recall the LVG being wanted but may have just missed that at the time, I thought SAF had earmarked Moyes at some point?

We need the stability and scouting Moyes had badly now.

I have an image of Fergie meeting Moyes and Big Sam in the hospitality lounge at some horse race in 2007 and drunkenly telling Sam the sad news that Davey has been tapped for the Man Utd job when he retires, so he should take the Newcastle job after all.

Sam is sad at first, but soon forgets this after Alex buys him a pint of wine and a jumbo bag of pork scratchings. :pint2: :pint2:

(BTW did Utd really have a "boot room?" If I'm honest I think most of it was in Fergie's head. Can't see Whelan being some sort of coaching mastermind lol lol )

Probably not. A lot of people seem to really loathe the guy, which is a bit of a shame. Did well for us over a very long period of underinvestment.
I don't loathe David Moyes at all. I just think the football went stale. Even during the relegation fights though I was still excited to go to the match.
His football was up and down. Two games I went to for example. They were both at Derby County. One we won 4-3. Then the other was a new years day game and we lost 2-0.

What the Horsepunchers had made.. perhaps those who adore FSW could buy up the surplus stocks and use them here?
