I'm afraid that doesn't count anymore in modern football.
What's their matchday turnover? How lucrative are their sponsorship deals (and their NFL deal)

They consistently finish above us, have a much bigger global profile and have a much bigger stadium.

To be fair, he's right over Spurs and the other teams.

If you asked 100 fans of other teams which team is bigger currently I'm pretty sure most would says Spurs. They've been in a Champions League final recently.

By the same argument, Benitez hasn't won anything in however many years.

You imply spurs are a bigger team because they have been in a champions league final in 2019. Fair enough.

By that same logic, benitez hasn't done anything of note since 2013 (the europa league after having won the champions league the year before so an established team) aside from a cup run with another established team (napoli). And prior to that it was 2005. That's 16 years ago since he was relevant.

On the flip side, their "potential" is a constant burden on their shoulders. Look at Kane, he wants to win trophies. Can he realistically do that at Spurs? I'm sure the NFL deal keeps him happy about his career trajectory.

By that same logic, benitez hasn't done anything of note since 2013. And prior to that it was 2005. That's 16 years ago since he was relevant.

Benitez may turn out to be past it, we won't know until he's had some money and given a little time to shape the squad.

Many of the managers being mentioned to replace him have barely\never won anything, either recent or in the past.

We'll find out fairly soon if he is or isn't up to it anymore.

But yes their 1 league cup and NFL sponsorship out does our 9 league titles, to such a degree we should be grateful of drawing with them.

But yes their 1 league cup and NFL sponsorship out does our 9 league titles, to such a degree we should be grateful of drawing with them.

Most of us were happy with the Florida cup, we can only dream of lifting the League cup.

Most managers don't have so many key injuries at the same time.

Most managers get more than 1.7m to spend.

Most managers don't have zero money to spend as their board have a clue what they are doing.
