I'm sorry mate, but how can you defend Benitez, I just don't get it. Coleman playing on the left wing for most of the game. How?????

I am not saying he is blameless. He has definitely made mistakes and he wasn’t my first choice either. But I think people underestimate the job he has had, with so many injuries and no money to spend, add to that he will never be accepted by some fans, I just don’t think sacking another manager will improve things.

I don't think anybody thought with a few injuries we would see our worst form for 30 years.

Go look back at the predictions people were making for Benitez before a ball was kicked. Nobody was saying that we would be doing this poorly.

Brands was working on a RB all summer so I don't know why suddenly Benitez is getting the credit for it. More desperation on display trying to give him credit for absolutely anything.

Carlo walked away for plenty of reasons. Lockdown in Liverpool, getting his house burgled, the squad being crap, no budget for the summer, better weather and team in Madrid. It would have been an easy decision to make.
Brands should have got one in years ago. That's on him.

Predictions I recall were people would accept mid table obscurity if it meant getting better in the long run.
Don't see how that's changed yet.

I suppose because mid table are 6 points away from us and we’re winning 2 games every 15 or something.

He should have.

Doesn't change the fact that he was looking for a right back for us all summer and that it had little to do with Benitez.

From what I had heard it was Benitez who didnt want to pay for Patterson in the summer because he wasn't convinced he was ready. Now from what I see the price has gone up now in January. Not wise business from Benitez.

16th place isn't midtable.

8th-14th is midtable anything below that is bottom of the table stuff for me.

It is easy to say these things with hindsight, but any Everton fan knows that these players are brainless and most have seen off several managers now.

It does not matter how a team is set up if the players available make simple mistakes, do not track their men and cannot pass 10 yards.

Brentfords squad has been together a long time, under a manager they have had for a long time, using a system they have had for a long time. We don’t have that. Our first choice 11 is better than Brentfords. I am not sure about what we had to play with yesterday.
Funny thing is these brainless players seemed to defend set pieces and track their men better than most teams in the league last season, now, they are amongst the worst teams at defending set pieces in the league. By the way, this has happened since Benitez came in, the players are the same, the system as been changed, if it isn’t broken don’t fix it.

I suppose that you are aware, we have already conceded more from set pieces up to now this season than we did in the whole of last season. He has set the defence up shambolicaly.

No doubt if we win the next game by chance, good luck or played well he will claim the players followed his plan and thus take credit.

Thats me for now no more comments on this waste of space.
I think that's what irritates me most, he takes all the credit for a lucky win but none of the blame for a loss he caused. Apparently Gordon wasn't fit enough to last the final 15 mins against watford and had to be subbed for iwobi. stuff like that.

Hoddle called that sequence of play out in his analysis, Keane was on the back post and inexplicably drifted towards the centre of the 6 yard box leaving that space free.
I have trouble believing that is down to anything other than a brain fart from Keane.

Because it's zonal, you attack the space. He's gone and mistimed it. Player error...but not against Raffa's instructions on the system.

But why is Keane back post anyway? Surely the "better" header of a ball should be in the middle of the box? He's got Dom (the best header of a ball we have), at the front post too.

These aren't isolated incidents either being we have the worst defence against set pieces
