It's funny listening to those. You can tell there is a disconnect between the old heads and the young ones. It's all the old ones that are making the excuses.

Prentice cant say a bad word against the club or Bill will take his director's box seats off him and his missus.

They put their boats out for Benitez just like all the other Everton media but while everyone else is now acknowledging this as a disaster they're still giving Everton PR cover to maintain their relations.
I thought Bill wanted Benitez gone? Surely his mates would be having a pop at the manager?

I do think the time for “give him time” shouts is passed. We’re on a dire run and either he turns it round right now or it’s P45 time.

At least the Blue Room lads have seen the light even though they were just as bad as the Echo for trying to tell fans to get behind him and give him a chance when we all know basically every blue didn't want him anywhere near the job.

I won't forget the ones who tried to put down the support and insulted the fans who knew this was an impending disaster.

They should all be quoted and taken to task over the crap they were spouting in August and September.

The Echo is the worst hands down. Pure sycophants who can't upset the club so they just put the club's desired spin out every week.

At least Adam Jones seems to be fed up.
ey I'm off on the Blueroom in 5 mins! lol (so you all know to avoid this episode)

Tbf to them, I know full well none of them wanted Benitez (MJ definitely didn't and doesn't, it was more just like 'he's here now'). Think they did take a more general approach though in saying 'Christ, it's all crap'. TTV were definitely worse for that but they've flipped on their heads recently.

I wanted to back Benitez, I even did at the start. I went against my gut instinct and really I know I shouldn't have done. It was never the RS thing for me, I just think he's a crap manager. Did when he was at Newcastle.

It wasn't. During the 7/8 games doucoure missed, we had several other players missing games as well.

We literally played what could be considered Carlo's first choice team 4 games all season. And they came in the first 5 games.
Yeah I do remember saying on here last October time that I bet we'd be lucky to see the side that started the first few games of last season play together 5 more times. They literally never played together again.

That's not what I hear at all.

I'm always amazed how extreme people's opinions can be about fairly tempered discussion.

Prentice and Buckland sound like closet reds, they're always sanguine maybe because they are happy with their cushy number and seats in the directors box next to their mate Bill. Benitez was always a disaster it was plain as day, I just hope we don't see the ultimate disaster of relegation because I am not confident we won't be in the mix with him in charge he is so negative its untrue.

Exactly. And most of the time, there was 2 or more of that first choice 11 injured.

(Ive discussed this last month so checked it all but while doucoure was out, all these players were also injured for 1 or more games: DCL, Allan, Gomes, James, King, Bernard, iwobi, Coleman, mina, Keane and pickford. As well as.your delphs, gbamins, tosuns etc).

6 of which could be considered first choice 11.

The injury excuse only goes so far when we finished top half last season and got 59 points when you look at that list above from the space of just 8 games.

Talking of Ancelotti.. 8 of the team that beat Spurs away on the opening day last year were available v Brighton.

Ok Richi and James weren’t but our 2 best players the other day were their 2 direct replacements in Gordon and Gray.

Are people seriously trying to tell me that we don’t have the personnel to compete with Brighton at home?

He was clearly a very capable manager at one point. Since we got burnt by Silva we’ve gone all in for experienced managers past their best (and I include Sam in that since he did a great job with Bolton in his day).

We need to find someone whose career is on an upward trajectory.

Injuries are a fact of life at Everton because our squad is so short on quality the same key players have the bulk of the workload so we will always get injuries. Also have been issues with the fitness and medical departments over many years.

That podcast is like North Korean PR work for Benny. Gav Buckland on a mad rant about how none of it is Benny's fault and other team's like Brighton have better players than us, and what gives us the right to expect better... He is a whopper.
I actually think Gav talks a lot of sense. Personally I prefer listening to him than the others. He’s constantly says to be fair, this squad finishes mid table, it’s a mid table squad. He also said which I agree with, in a back 5 you need a CB or two who are comfortable on the ball who can bring the ball forward as well as wing backs who can get up and down and give us some attacking intent. Something we were sadly lacking on Sunday

I would disagree about Brighton having better players, maybe they have more of a settled team, as potter been there 2/3yrs, like wolves have played the same system for 5yrs. Both clubs also haven’t had big injuries to their best players.

Even if he wants them gone he wouldn't want them exposing the mess we are in the papers.

There isn't a doubt in my mind that they haven't been honest about what they really feel and think about this appointment.

Yes back five was always wrong its never suited us. And yes it's a mid table squad plummeting towards the drop zone the fact he isn't alarmed and kept trotting out the eight points clear mantra, says it all about his comfort levels with the manager. As I said before the fact we are discussing relegation shows how poor Benitez has been even with the many issues with the squad and injuries.
