Playing devils advocate here. (I’m still more so Rafael out then in!)

But, for years most fans have moaned how we are underachieving in relation to the money we’ve spent.

That the players have got away with murder.

The players are stealing a living.

The players aren’t good enough.

The players are coasting/ not arsed.

That we need someone to come in and clear all these types of players out, or at the very least remind them that our standards expected are far greater.

Then Rafael comes in, upsets players perhaps with some honesty about their performances/ efforts & what’s expected of them and now that’s not the approach we want anymore?!

I’m not excusing the managers underpermances either, but in terms of someone coming in and battering these players we’ve raged about, isn’t that what it looks like he’s doing and thst a lot of the fan base asked for?!

I can see your point but this falls apart if you look at results and performances on the pitch.

Nobody will look back fondly on his supposed no nonsense approach if the team is relegated.

Of course if Everton doesn't do well and he is sacked then there's nothing more to see. The hatred deepens and he moves on to another club. Sorry I disagree with this, that social media post from Digne was both childish and unprofessional. I said as much at the time. It was literally one big dig. If I was the manager of the club, after seeing that he would be gone.

Rafael doesn't routinely generate rifts with players, that's utter bull. A few prima Donna's who need a reality check only.

While I agree with the sentiment - it needs to be with done with winning tactics, game winning in game management and making players better.

Something Benitez has done nothing of the likes of.

For what its worth, check out every club he has been at, its a script he runs through. Fall out with someone in power and try to get people on his side, fall out with one of the top players and tow the "my way or the high way" line, go on mental press conference tangents.

Its a broken record with him at EVERY club, this isn't an anomaly, my only surprise is it wasn't Richarlison who he fell out with - but I do think he was made to do that interview after his "injury".
