Not for nothing but this is a pretty poor take. Literally every top club in England has a DOF. Chelsea, United, Liverpool, City, Spurs, Arsenal, Leicester, etc. Every single one.

And its this weird obsession Evertonians have with the drop zone that saw us panic and boot Koeman and Silva which has led us to the point we are at now.

And even then I could understand the worry being in the actual relegation zone but we're like 8 points clear with a game in hand on two of the sides ffs lol

We were miles better under both Koeman and Silva, this messiah of yours is an absolute disaster. I was convinced that we had no relegation fears back in November, but now, not so much. This football is even worse than the crap Allardyce and Ancelotti in his last 6 months here served up. Their mitigation was that their boring defensive football was effective. This feller doesn’t even get results with his turgid football.

Oh and before we get the 1.7 million or the injuries, his teams have always played ugly percentage football, it’s just that up until 10 years ago. he used to win football matches, so, he got away with it.

Do you think Koeman and Silva would have turned it around id they had more time? Serious question, genuninely interested in your thoughts on them...

At the time I would have said no mate but In hindsight both would have kept us up.

I imagine Silva would have still had us around bottom half that season but given time and better players in January window I think Koeman could have had us a top half side that season.

Ultimately bad recruitment killed both of them off.

Koeman 1st season - 7th
Loses Lukaku who isnt replaced
Koeman 2nd season - sacked

Silva 1st season - 8th
Loses Gana and Zouma who aren't replaced
Silva 2nd season - sacked

No coincidence imo but the fans (myself included) jumped on the managers back demanding their heads and calling them the worst managers they've seen at GP (something they now say about Benitez).

Something for many to ponder going forward.

I just thought it was interesting the way a player who clearly doesn't wish to be here was defended by some and that Benitez said EXACTLY what we'd wanted to hear from an Everton manager for years but it was attacked in order to defend one of the cowards who've gone missing in games.

Hmm. I suspect they tie up deals for the players that the manager wants. If they are any good they may identify future prospects. I remember we took on the Leicester bloke who was useless.
