...WTF are some people supporting this team for if they come out with utter tripe like that when we win a game and book our place for round 4?

Have some people been that bent out of shape by Benitez being appointed that they've become alienated form an Everton away win in the FA Cup?

I'm very pleased we won and so are the majority of blues. How have you become so detatched from main stream Evertonians that you'd not feel like the rest of us?

I'm very happy we won Dave, it doesn't hide the fact that we have been crap for most of this season under Benitez, his tactics at times have been to put it politely head scratching.

But the defence is in a shambles. How many times do we have to concede inside the first 10 minutes before things change? We can't keep going on having to play catch-up all the time. We're allowing too many goals.

We could have scored 5 or 6. Talk about accentuating the negative.

maybe the players him kicking out don't have an attitude problem or an ego? Digne, all his time he's been with us he's been professional in every thing he's done, interacts with the fans, has never said a bad word against anyone, Benitez comes in and all of a sudden Digne's a snake etc, have you ever considered that maybe Benitez is the problem.

Why would Benitez be the root of the problem when we've been awful for the past 6 years? Because he had a fallout with an out of form full back? That's completely illogical.

Such a frustrating time seeing people be apologists for these total failures we've paid millions for.

We now know why Rondon has played so many games, Clearly FSW's bum boy, has been in 3 of the teams managed by FSW. Wonder how many goals he has scored in those teams?

Gomes played at the level he’s capable of for about 20 minutes. He just couldn’t be arsed to the rest of the game. Benitez is trying to get more players in the team like Gray Gordon Townsend who retain their levels for far longer in game. The desire of the rest of the squad is a joke though. We saw Tosun come on and his first touch is just a lazy pass straight to a Hull player. Kenny with that corwardly jump out of a tackle. The squad is a shambles and some fans are desperate to get rid of the bloke trying to dismantle it.

Tosun had a shot on target, at least. Something Rondon couldn't manage in 105 minutes.

FFS do you have no joy in watching an Everton win?

I thought we did ok, still reckon we need a midfield three, he's got two gem's in Gray and Gordon, said earlier I hope he plays them so we'll done to him for that, he still makes strange decisions like keeping Rondon on for as long as he did but I'm always happy when we win, hopefully this will kickstart us but if I'm honest, I don't think it will.

I found very little joy in watching us get outplayed for most of 120mins by a Championship relegation candidate, no.

Pleased to win, sure, but my standards are higher than to enjoy that performance.

Apparently to some posters the poor defensive performance, tactics, awareness, is all down to the players. The win was all down to the manager.

We've been crap for a decade mate. You expect this manager to come in and in 6 months sort out this midden of a squad?

His signings and the one's he's bulleted give me hope we can change that.
