I suppose we also had alot of injuries last year. My guess is that Davide Ancelottis system was so good that it aided us massively...no idea why Benitez changed it as it worked.

Just looking at our defenders though. On the pitch surely they can do better than what were seeing.

Its like none of them have defended a set piece before.

I'm wondering what we actually do in training Zat.

The thing that is most indefensible for Benitez is he doesn’t seem to be coaching the players tactically at all. Every single game we have the same issues from set pieces, the same lack of shape, and the same look of players literally not knowing what to do (I.e. to press, to sit off, who to mark, etc)

Yeah but what you have to remember is that once Mina and DCL are back from injury, all that stuff will magically be fine. (Apparently?!)

Suppose we have just gotta hope gray, Gordon and Townsend keep ignoring el gordo and doing what they want, scoring screamers here and there to win us enough games to pull away from the bottom of the league.

Our defenders have priors of being very good or very bad defensively.

It's a winning combo a good manager would fix easily.
