Hes done very well with Gray and Gordon.

Amazed he cant set up a defence though...or could it just be the players are so bad?
It’s partly the defence but as much to do with the midfield and set up, has been for a long while.

I’d say the last time we looked reasonably solid defensively was second half of Marco Silva’s season when we had Keane, zouma at centre back with Idrissa Gueye in front of them. Sadly at the end of that season we lost Gueye and never made the move for Zouma permanent.

Since then we’ve had no effective defensive midfielder, no mobility or protection offered to the back four. We don’t put pressure on the ball in midfield allowing players time to pick passes, we don’t track runners from midfield very well, we frequently let midfielders between the lines and turn and run straight at the defence.

As a defender, I look at this team and set up and would absolutely hate to play in it. It exposes defenders constantly and makes it easy for the opposition midfield/forwards.

Looking back, Benitez should never have been appointed, as he was always going to be on the chopping block as soon as he lost a few games.

However, we have him now. And if we carry on sacking managers, we’re only vindicating the players and giving them an excuse to underperform: “it’s because of the manager, not me” and that rotten mentality carries on in the next group of players, and so on.
So you think we should we should stick with him just to teach the players a lesson?!?

Even though we've won 1 league game in 12, even though he might get us relegated, even though pretty much everything has and continues to regress every week as we slump further down the table with no sign of things changing? And all whilst he takes no responsibility for any of it with excuse after excuse?...

Not for me, Clive.

Why? Did Mike Walker ever win anything?

If you all want to get angry, feel free. Go ahead. It’s your life you’re making miserable. Maybe you all like being in a mad rage.

I just wonder where you all think this ends? If if you all get what you want. Doesn’t bother me mate…
Did Benitez win anything with the barcodes, apart from the Championship after he’d failed to save them from relegation?
In fact his performance at the home of the horsepunchers was lacklustre and easily matched and bettered by the unloved Bruce.
As a neutral observer the most noteworthy aspect of his tenure there was his constant whinging and fractiousness which is an ever present element of his management.
All the clubs he had success with had a higher starting position than ourselves.
Where I would like it to end is with us installing a manager who genuinely plays front foot , attacking football.
Finally , if it doesn’t bother you why post in the first place?

Persistence with the high line is the big problem. The pragmatist would drop us deep and use Gray, Gordon etc to counter. But we are holding a high line trying to pass through the midfield, losing it and being exposed because of our midfield two and high line.

Oh, Dave that’s a poor argument even from you.
People used their eyes and matched their expectations to what they observed on the pitch and noticed the ,(now season long), shortfall.
It wasn’t good enough we don’t need media interlocutors to inform us of what is plain as the nose on our face.
The BBC were dictating their overall view of who should have progressed.

That lot were desperate all night for Everton to get beat. Their coverage was a disgrace.

I remember when we beat City 4-0 under Koeman, and you called us small time for being happy about it.

Found it.

And you’re having a go at people for being rightly concerned about scraping past championship relegation candidates after being second best for large parts of the match.
City were in the doldrums at that time. Getting webbed by all kinds.

You really need to check out the context.

Nature of sport is we always favour the underdog.
Last night to the general public Hull were the underdog and the more newsworthy and interesting outcome would have been our defeat.
Nothing to see here, move on.

This is fair, missing DCL, Mina particularly have both been massive. Get them back we’ll improve.
2 of the more important players no doubt, but what's the plan if these 2 lads -who are no stranger to injury- pick up more knocks and are out again?

The entire team is a joke but for 1 or 2. I'm not so convinced there's going to be some magic turn around with these 2 back in the side most weeks. (If only Rafael could do some of that coaching malarky with the strikers and defenders we do have available, that'd be nice).

Hull are 19th in the championship. Gettting webbed by all kinds.

Yesterday was a typical cup tie between a premier league team and one from the Championship. Hull's last 8 games won 4 drew 2 and lost 2 - losing 1-0 at West Brom and 2-1 at Forest. Lately they're no getting webbed by all kinds'. The players showed grit and determination yesterday.

I’d give him the season and the Summer to sort the team out but that is only if he starts to make some positive changes.

If he remains stubborn and doesn’t then obviously he has to go.
If he's been doubling-down on his stubborness and unwillingness to adapt for the last 6 months, I doubt that's going to change in the next 6. He's been this way for 20 years.

But they’re still 19th in the Championship aren’t they?

Very clear - removing a manager who will relegate us if permitted to do so
