Because we pay really fn well. We're paying Benitez, a manager who nobody wanted at all, 6m a year. That's why he would come. And it would make more sense to have a manager like HIM build the club from the ground up than Benitez who, again, not a single other club wanted.

Top managers get money wherever. Top managers, by definition, have options. We have competition for talent.

Again, to think otherwise is delusional.

I’m not sure you’ve understood the point I was trying to make.

Benitez doesn’t have the personnel to play the way he wants to, you said as much yourself. Guardiola barely broke sweat getting City to play the way he wanted, thanks to their superior players.

But the issue is mate is who does with this squad?

Not many "pragmatic" managers knocking about these days that we would want to stick around for years.

Take the likes of Potter/Kovac for example - they wont be pragmatic playing 4 CB's to nick games 1-0 they'll be playing their way of football and the worry is for me... like Koeman/Silva we'll be no better under them as we are now under Benitez.

It really is a shame Mina is injured as the likes of Keane and Godfrey are not too bad when they have a leader/organiser alongside them.

No it wasn't. It was completely random.
Ok. So just so we’re clear:

It’s small time to be happy at beating City 4-0 (the biggest defeat of Peps career btw)

But we should all be happy in needing extra time and a worldie to scrape past a team clinging on for life in the championship under a manager that has us on our worst run in living memory?

Whatever you say mate.

Of course they have options. That doesn't even support your claim. You're saying that "well...fine, maybe we pay well but why would he come here" as if money isn't a reason for top managers to come here. Literally the only reason we got Ancelotti was because Moshiri literally told him to give us a number and said yes. Top managers like to get paid. Out of work managers like to get work. Honestly don't even know what point you are trying to make.

Let me put the question this way
If we exclude the demented who think they’d be great because they’re super at FIFA 21, how many actual candidates worth considering do you think Everton get?

I have no idea, as normally the details of the applicants are never made public.

However, as many others have stated, the draw of managing in the Premier League and the salary, would attract applicants of a high calibre.

We would of course be in competition with other clubs for top talent, but think back to Koeman at Saints. He was the flavour of the month, the next big thing. Saints wanted to keep him, Moshiri put about £6m salary on the table, he was here the next day. (And that's excluding any Marco Silva legalities/compensation thing he'd have fronted for).

If Moshiri is still serious about getting the best people possible, he's proven he's not afraid to get his wallet out to make it happen if it can be done.

It went beyond that.

Lineker, Pearce, Willians and Jenas were constantly trying to get a crisis for Everton going.

Shearer was almost reasonable in comparison.

I blame those 3500 travelling Blue Geordies and their bed sheets, for all this rabble rousing going on.

How dare they draw attention to the eye bleeding tactics and team formation of the manager.

After all, what have they got to be upset about, when everything is so peachy on board the Good Ship Everton.

They were about 4-strong and spoke for themselves.

2 wins
2 losses
1 draw

in the last 5 games.

Not my definition of a crisis.
1 win, 8 losses in the last 12 league games.

But we squeaked past an injury ravaged relegation candidate from the Championship, so…
