Pushing the narrative that the players are to blame is pointless, we all know they're not good enough for where we want the club to be but at least other managers got more out of them, Benitez has been tactically clueless and has no idea how to properly play the players he has which has resulted in where we are now. We've known there is a valid argument for getting rid of tons of our players for a long time now but that doesn't have to be while staring at relegation, Ancelotti also played some terrible football with these players but he was at least good enough to keep us far away from a relegation fight.

No. It was widely reported that there was a disagreement over the strategic direction of the club (or lack of) so he walked. I doubt either kenwright or moshiri would've sacked him as he was a convenient distraction from their mismanagement.
It's not even going to be that much of a relief him getting the boot. Clearly a stupid appointment all round, but our position is far worse than when we reached for Fat Sam, no idea who the hell comes in, and that liability Moshiri will be involved.
It's merely one stressor removed. Sleep walked into the merde. Still, it's a start. Really need to get lucky with the next appointment. Yes, get lucky, cos I don't trust the board to make a shrewd well thought out move.
