Terrible expecting mid table, 11 points away from champion league, last season. A season had us the fan been in Goodison we would have achieved , now to high fives for finishing 7th to 14th.
We finished 10th last season which is as midtable as you can get. If you think the fans would have improved our home record then surely our away record would have suffered by the same logic.

Even you don't actually believe that we've spent a lot of money on these players. It might not be the best value in history but it's not even close to a lot of money when you put it into context. It suits your narrative and nothing more.

In saying that you thought we could get Bellingham.

Would you say PSG spent alot of money on these players this summer?

Donnarumma
Messi
Wijnaldum
Ramos
Mendes (loan)

Alot of people were in uproar when PSG only spent €7mil on Mendes' loan fee and signed those 4 on free transfers.

"Even you dont actually believe weve spent alot of money on these players" said no PSG fans...

...but you just did and weve signed:

Rondon
Gray
Townsend
Lonergan
Begovic

Have we paid £1.7mil in transfer fees = YES

Are we also paying agent fees, signing bonuses and wages = YES.

Circa £300k a week wages on those 5 players is probably £50k+ higher to what were paying Allan, Doucoure and Godfrey.

Thats not great 'value' when you compare this years business and the three signings who were signed as starters last summer.

Im curious why you are comparing PSG signing Lionel Messi, the highest paid footballer in the world, to Everton signing Andy Lohergan.

I reckon Messi earns more an hour than Lohergan does in a week.

Not really mate its a multi million pound sports industry not X Factor - the board need to hire the best man for the job not bring in someone who is more likely to fail but the fans love and tops the popularity charts.

I honestly think someone would rather Dunc as manager and finishing 13th instead of Benitez as manager and finishing 7th.
I agree. It's a multi million business and decisions are not based on emotions.

Still... I think he's appointment was/is wrong on so many levels. Hopefully I'm mistaken.

did you forget about the sixty million pounds we needed to sign the three you are comparing favourably to our free transfers? Fair enough, it's easily done. But when players do come on frees they often expect a boost to their wages. Not to the extent to cancel the fee, but they'd expect a nice contract. it's the market. But even allowing for this 'boost' we picked up our two of our best performing players on free transfers this summer, and you're complaining we've overspent. Which does seem odd, like. Out of interest, where then should we have invested our gold? People are talking about Gray being the find of the season, and Townsend's performance a few days ago (remember when he had a hand in all of our goals including a worldie).

To be honest if we had spent £300k per week on a lad from Italy or Spain who was doing what Gray is doing at the moment, we would all be declaring it the best business of the transfer window? For me his form alone means the money, whilst not insubstantial, is good value based on our return so far. Obviously he could revert to previous form and fizzle out. But we have spent proper large transfer fees, (+agents fees, wages etc.) on utter dross over the past four or five seasons, who failed to even reach s standrad they could ‘fizzle out’ from. Or so whilst it is a lot of money, it is currently the best value we have had (so far) in a long, long time.

But what happens when Chelsea or City bid 70 mill for Gray next year? Tell them to sod off, or will Mosh just accept it and ask Benitez to find another Gray and there's your money to rebuild? If that allows us to keep Richy then it wouldn't be the worst thing.

I'd be disappointed if we don't qualify for Europe. Moyes got West Ham 6th last season and won't do that again being in Europe. Spurs and Arsenal still poor.

No this doesn’t make any sense, if fans were in the stadiums last season would we have won at Anfield, Spurs, Leicester and Arsenal???

That’s not going to happen.
