Folk are lazy mate, and within footie, some managers are more often referenced by their first name/nick name. Big Sam and our current manager being 2 examples. Most folk call the City manager Pep.

So the boss wanted to minimise the kopite reference to their former manager, hence the auto correct to Rafael. Pretty unkopite imo.

…I was chuffed the boss did what he did, it was very Evertonian.

A few of our players are also referred to by their first name too. Jordan, Sea, Leighton, James, Dom, Gylfi. Carlo was another one too.

I'm not sure this is right...

Pickford and Baines are standard. "Dom" is usually known as DCL because he has a long name, not Dom, "Gylfi"the exact same reason, James is the name that Rodriguez actually uses and I don't even know who Sea is....(Coleman?)

Carlo is the only one really.

They can cross it low across the face of the goal, like the DCL goal. They will cause all of the above plenty of problems.
 

I think its strange how some try to rewrite what Benitez said and why. He was belitteling us, which, no matter how frustrating, was within his ‘right’ as the manager of our nemesis. If the situation was opposite and our manager called them a small club, we wouldnt have any issue with it. Its mindgames, its a part of any sport. The problem is when you then go and make him our manager, because no matter how you twist it, its going to leave a sour taste in the mouth of most Evertonians. Trying to rewrite history a decade later doesnt change what happened and why.
