Hes not a defensive minded manager, he is more about finding balance.

He holds the record of the most goals scored in the champions league with 2 teams , see previous coach.
look at the number of goals scored by everton thus far.

I suggest fans should research RB facts.

He is a defensive manager. Scoring doesn't mean you are not defensive. I want to play progressive winning football I don't think he's capable if that. I now think he's at the point in his career where he will do enough to keep his pay masters happy. He will be grateful with small budget. He will guide us to 8th which some will be happy with I want more. We should at minimum be challenging to get in the top 4. Winning the league would be Leicester esque with this squad but that should be the aim. If he gets kept on next season he will be happy with 7th as it would show improvement. For me this season minimum should be 6th next year with more players in with the releases resources top 4. 23/24 genuine title challenge or a real good go in the Champions League. It might not be possible but that should be the mindset. He will be happy with 8th, 7th, 6th.

Guys look at the line up of Liverpool vs Milan
Liverpool only had 2 world class players, rest were average
yet RB managed to beat them.

At Valencia - Real and Barca dominated -
RB broken their domination

He was at Napoli when Juventus were absolutely dominating everything and he beat them in a cup final. That’s what you’ll want him to do as Everton manager.

He plays counter attacking football. It's a reactive system rather than proactive, so yes it is defensive minded regardless of how many goals his team score, It does'nt need to make play or require creativity, it needs players who are physically very fit and can follow instructions to the letter.

Just to mention another point:

Most goals in a single season In The Champions League

45 Barcelona, 1999/2000 (16 matches)
43 Bayern, 2019/20 (11)
41 Real Madrid, 2013/14 (13)
41 Liverpool, 2017/18 (13)
36 Real Madrid, 2016/17 (13)

He wants to compete and win trophies - hence his fight with previous managers.

I believe you will get 5/6 place this season, that is because for the manager.

Previous managers managed 10 place

I will be delighted with 8th, 7th or 6th.One problem would be ending up in the Europa Conference.

I want to win the league and every managers objective should be win it by your 3rd season or at least be challenging. He will see us as a big pay day and then blame the fans when it falls apart and he leaves.

He is unfortunately not the right man for the job but I'm hoping he proves me wrong. If he takes us to 5th or 6th this season that is objective one achieved. If he can win the league in one attempt even better.

Any fans of other teams will just be laughing at this.

You can live with your head in the clouds as much as you want, doesn't mean it's a sensible expectation given our finances.
