Ok so including the cup games mina was in the squad 10 times more than James last season. Its therefore up to the manager if he wants to play him if available.
James was an absolute mercenary only here for a payday given to him by Ancelotti whereas Mina moved here to play football.
Ultimately, are you happy with the football you have watched in the last 2 months? Are you enjoying our football? Regardless of injuries, are you happy with the style of play being implemented?

He is a coach however the basics can be practiced all you like but at some points the armbands come off for the players and they get thrown in the deep end to do something they're paid well for. He has to take responsibility for a tactical error from the side but passing poorly isnt all on him.

The performance levels have dropped in recent weeks for the new signings, however it was always unlikely they'd keep up the start they have had. Only very few players can do it at such a level all the time but the only way to get it back is play your way back into form.

Asides from the centre forward how would you have liked us to line up yesterday?
No Iwobi, no Rondon, three across midfield. Play 4-3-3 and match them up, even with our injury problems we should be able to match up a team like Brentford and have too much for them.

James was here for all of preseason, went on tour to the states and played most preseason friendlies.
Sure his fitness and motivation is questionable at times but no one can tell me we're better off without him while watching Iwobi clunk around in the roles he played. I know it's not the James thread but I was baffled why Benitez ran him out of the club.

Rafael Benitez Everton

Everton manager Rafael Benitez has reportedly learnt just how long he has to save his job, as the club’s board set their sights on a potential replacement.
Benitez’s arrival on June 30 wasn’t exactly met with great pleasure from the Toffees faithful. The Spaniard is a Liverpool legend, having guided Everton’s rivals to the Champions League crown in 2005 and an FA Cup the following year.

Benitez also seemed to claim that Everton were a ‘small club’ during his time at Anfield, although he has since attempted to explain the jibe.
The Merseyside outfit started the campaign brightly, picking up 14 points from their first seven Premier League games. But Sunday’s disappointing 1-0 defeat to Brentford took their winless run to seven games in the competition. They are now 14th in the table and looking over their shoulder at the likes of Southampton, Watford and Leeds.

Sport Witness, citing reports in the Spanish press, provide a worrying update on the 61-year-old’s future. They write that he has just one more game to save his position – Wednesday evening’s derby against high-flying rivals Liverpool.
Should Everton pick up a surprise win at Goodison Park, then it would re-install some faith among the club’s board of directors and fans. However, another defeat would likely see Benitez receive the sack.

International boss in line to take over

Everton officials have one name in mind as they prepare for a new reign. Denmark boss Kasper Hjulmand is the ‘main candidate’ to replace Benitez.
He has plenty of admirers following his country’s impressive Euro 2020 campaign. They overcame Wales and the Czech Republic before losing to England in the semi-finals.

Hjulmand also gained plenty of respect for his handling of Christian Eriksen’s collapse. The attacking midfielder could re-join Ajax after getting an implantable cardioverter defibrillator fitted.
However, Everton may be left frustrated in their pursuit of Hjulmand. The 49-year-old has helped the Danes to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. As such, the Toffees would need to put an enticing offer on the table to prize him to the Premier League.

Benitez reacts to latest Everton defeat

Following the loss at the Brentford Community Stadium, Benitez told reporters: “We can understand the frustration of the fans but we are also frustrated.
“Today you cannot complain about the effort and intensity the players put in. They try until the end.
“We had a lot of crosses and shots, so you cannot complain about the effort. But you can be disappointed because obviously we do not want to lose.
“We didn’t deserve to lose but the reality is the team is giving everything on the pitch and you can see the togetherness of the players.”

LOL as if Moshiri had heard of that Danish manager before the Euros.

No, I don't think anyone is happy with what we have seen. Benitez football has been hard to watch and has been hampered with injuries in key positions. Hopefully it can turn around soon however I don't see who they're going to get in to replace him if they relieve him of his duties.

There it is.

Gone by Friday.

Happy days blues. We can finally get back to Making Evero Great Again without the stain of a fat kopite dinosaur in the dugout.

So you would agree to pay him almost 1 million pounds a month in the hope he can bothered to turn up and play every now and then.
Benitez knew exactly what he was and got shut. I applaud him for that.
All that talent and he just doesn't care. It's why any team from a top league won't touch him.
A mil a month ....haha.

What a great narrative that turned out to be , press where all over 90k pw when he signed. Then its 250k when Jaffa wants rid.( little whisper to his red mates in the press )

You believe what you want.

What we do expect, bare minimum, is a team that looks to have a coherent strategy on the pitch and players who look like they know what system they’re supposed to be playing, even if it’s sometimes not necessarily going to be pretty.

Early on yesterday Brentford had the ball near their own box and Townsend went pressing completely on his own. After they'd easily picked out one of the multiple passes available you could see Townsend looking round clearly irritated and puzzled that nobody else joined the press making it an utterly pointless endeavour on his behalf.

Either Townsend is a headless chicken who ignores tactical plans or the gameplan is to press despite a significant chunk of the frontline, Rondon being that significant chunk, is incapable of playing a pressing game rendering the whole thing pointless.
