Maybe it's all a ruse from their fans to convince us he's good and get us to take him off their hands for a handsome sum.

You know like when people on GOT say good things about McGeady, in the hope (I assume) a Celtic official gets fooled by it.

the RS have been fooled by this trick many times

First message at the top of that page according to Google Translate:

"Like I'm going to miss the fu<king! thanks for the goal mouth , thanks for the eggs in the super, thanks for the free kick goal, thanks x the goal in the final, thanks for everything !!"

Fu<king, mouths, love eggs?! He sounds like an absolute sex machine.

I think this signing is a further indication that Everton will NOT sell John Stones.

Mori is an unknown quantity. Different side of the equator, different country, different city, different club, different language.
I would expect this season will be seen as a settling in period.
It would be grossly unfair to expect him to step in and replace Stones if he were to be sold.
He certainly is not being signed as a replacement for John Stones and if Everton did sell John Stones he would need to be replaced by somebody who can immediately step in and which club will want to sell a player who will of that level of ability and at what price it will be the Stones scenario in reverse.

It'll be interesting to see how he does. I think he's the type that'll be Kone-esque - poor start and looks not up to the task and then becomes the best player in world football.

Did you want Browning to start the first couple of games?

No but I do think for his development he needs to be in that match day squad.
I fully appreciate the danger of having a youngster with 3 sub appearances to his name as our 3rd choice centre back, he didn't get much game time last year, and at 21 turning 22 the lad needs minutes.

Must be t
Feel a little bit for Browning in this situation
Worked hard all pre season even came back early and asked to train with the u21s, played well over pre season and has been on the bench first two games.

Will Mori take his place on the bench to start with making Browning not even in the first team squad?
Will be tough for him if the transfer goes ahead, but then maybe it'll free him up for a loan move which may prove better in the long term.

Browning is our back up right back.

Possibly Martinez is waiting until Baines and Hibbo(if ever) are fit, that way Baines would take Galloways place, Hibbo take the place of back up right back which leaves us with CB's of Jags, Stones, Mori, Browning and Galloway.
Galloway would of got game time at left back so we could loan browning out using Galloway as 4th choice centre back?

It's very obvious this guy isn't a replacement for Stones - yet EVERY media article will suggest that he is.

"At 6 foot three, Funes Mori is a powerful and aggressive central defender who poses an aerial presence in both penalty boxes."

That'll do for starters! Maybe he'll show Jagielka how it's done.

If this guy is half as good for the club as Jags has been then he'll be a tremendous signing.

Funes Mori goes to Everton and River loses a key
The defender of "Millionaire" multichampion of recent times will continue his career in the English club and the Club World Cup will be lost.

The defender Ramiro Funes Mori was transferred to Everton of England in an operation that will leave River about eight million clean dollars. By defending the British institution offers him a contract for five years and, although the intention of the team led by Marcelo Gallardo is held until year-end, will leave the institution now travel to Europe next Thursday.

The operation was headed Tuesday noon after a meeting that took Enzo Francescoli, technical secretary of River, with Jorge Cyterszpiler, the player's agent. Having been in England, the employer presented the formal "Millionaire" offer, that last details of the fine print with Everton to complete the operation.

While Funes Mori had intentions of staying to contest the World Club, the fortune that the British are willing to pay for it do that, apparently, his desire to remain truncated.

That sounds to me as if we're gonna loan him back.

And he'll get minutes. I'm very confident he'll start against Barnsley next to either Pennington or maybe Funes Mori if he signs. With our injuries we have Galloway/Oviedo left back, Stones/Jags/Browning/Penno/Robinson at centre, and Coleman/Penno/Holgate/Robinson right back. He'll get minutes in the cups I'm sure.
