Funes Mori has settled into the side like he's been playing in the Premier League for a decade. Great anticipation and coolness on the ball are his best attributes but he also knows when to launch it. A very impressive start in my opinion.

To make a profit on him with sale to Spanish side we would have to sell him to Real or Barcelona and I don't think it will happen ever.

With Funes Mori going to any other La Liga team in scenario when we aren't happy with his performance for us we would have to accept a loss.

For the money we spent on him I would prefer Van Dijk clearly, but Funes Mori has plenty of time to change my mind. And transition straight from South America to Premier League is never easy.

These are the types of posts that do my head in. Based purely on what ifs. He's been here for 3 months and you're already talking about how much we're going to make on him. You don't think Barca or Real will ever come in for him, but I bet you didn't think Leicester would be top of the league late in November? He's made two notable mistakes so far, one contributed to a goal on his first start at centre back and since then, barring the back pass yesterday, he's been excellent.

For the money we spent on him we wouldn't have gotten Van Dijk. He cost Southampton £13 million.

Lovely and tight isn't it.

Better than Superman's.

Poster to whom I was replying was saying that if Funes Mori will be a failure here we can still sell him to Primera Division for "tidy profit".

I am just saying that it's impossible, as financial difference between Premier League and Primera Division is too big these days, for any team not being Real/Barca to pay us more than we spent on player who failed. It's not a coincidence that you see Atletico/Sevilla/Valencia buying in England only on cut off prices, like with N'Zonzi having one year left on his contract and refusing to sign a new one.

The fact that I don't think he will be good enough for Barca/Real ever it's just a different aspect. And it doesn't mean I am criticizing him, as he is doing well for a newcomer from South America who was asked to to fill Jagielka boots so soon after arrival.

Not a very big difference though, probably biggest obstacle than money was the fact that van Dijk wouldn't be interested in being a squad player behind Jagielka/Stones.

I blame Kenwrong for not cashing him in yet.

I think he is doing as well as anyone could have reasonably expected him to do. He has come from a relatively small club on the other side of the world and he is playing regularly. He would have expected a wee bit longer to adjust to the different demands of the Premiership.

River Plate - a small club? That's a whopper there.

There is a small matter Everton fans need to consider after the international week.
Funes Mori travelled from Liverpool to London and then on to Buenos Aires(13 hour flight) played v Brasil in a match postponed for 24 hours then flew to Bogota 6.5 hours and another 1.5 to Barranquilla played Colombia Tuesday night Wednesday morning England time in 30 degrees returned to Bogota, Buenos Aires,London,Liverpool played Aston Villa Saturday
