As soon as Pennington is back to full fitness I'd put him in the back 3 with Williams and Holgate till the end of the season so he can get some more first team experience. Williams will take care of the two younger lads

Think we could have done with a centre back in January, now we're kind of stuck with him due to the formation we play. Wish we'd gone after Keane earlier in the window, regardless of whether Jagielka was sold or not because lets be honest if we can help it, he's not getting on the pitch again.

I'm not overly fussed by Keane though I have to say. He's alright like.

Mori has some positives, but he makes too many brainfarts for me. A lot have gone under the radar as he's been lucky that we haven't really conceded from them (as compared to poor Jags), but he has 2/3 almost every game. Also his decision making is suspect, he ball watches quite a lot, and so often let's his man get on the wrong side. He is only young but I don't think he has it in him to get to the level we need if we're to challenge the top 4 regularly.

On the positive side, he is first choice for Argentina so does have a good profile. Plus other's will not dissect his performances as critically as we do and outsiders will see him as an important part of the 4th best defence in the premier. So I reckon we could get a good price for him in the transfer market that we could put towards a long term top class replacement.

The swap bit was a joke because that's never going to happen, was just targeting teams who will probably have key players leave in the summer.

For Funes though, he's a relatively young Argentinian international footballer, and when Otamendi goes for nearly £30m, getting around 15-18 in this current state doesn't seem so ridiculous? Especially since we want to upgrade on that position anyway

He seems a nice guy. Really passionate.

However I genuinely don't have a strong opinion either way. Does well sometimes, other times not so well.

If we were all watching him playing week in week out for another Prem team I don't think anybody would suggest us signing him. Not based on his time here so far anyway.

I think you're right although he's no Mascherano.

He is not suited to the game here but he's obviously a whole hearted type and a trier.

There was a lot of hoofing going on by both our centre-backs on Saturday. It was a clear tactic by Koeman to get the ball up to Rom as quickly as possible, but the distribution was awful more often than not. In all honesty, neither Funes Mori or Williams are entirely comfortable playing the ball from the back. At least one needs to be replaced.
