Rank The Everton Goalkeepers

Howard is clearly bottom. Can’t believe anyone would choose him over Pickford.

I think the real question is between Pickford and Martyn. Martyn was more consistent because Pickford has had some bad periods but those were more in his earlier days. I’d say overall contribution to the club and longevity leans it more towards Pickford.

Nigel Martyn will always be a ‘what could have been’ for us. Great for us at the tail end of his career but all the more mystifying that Peter Johnson and Joe Royle managed to let him slip through and go and spend his prime years at Leeds.
Is there any truth in the story that Johnson kept Martyn and his agent waiting at his hamper factory to discuss his transfer?
First time around he arrived to have talks - no one was there to greet him so he went to Leeds - Everton That ....

Southall (the best)
Nigel Martyn (a higher quality keeper than the bottom two albeit wasn't with us too long)
Howard/pickford (can't seperate these, pickford arguably been better the last few years but Howard was pretty solid for Everton and great penalty record.

Martyn seemed to get better and better as he got older, let's hope the same happens for Pickford.

He doesn't have the honours that Big Nev earned, but in the modern era we shouldn't forget just how important Pickford has been for us.

He might not be everyone's choice, but if those playing at the moment, I don't think there is any other keeper I'd rather have

Has anyone mentioned Neville Southall, a great keeper of ours from the 80s and 1990s?
Not many would remember him but he used celebrate winning European trophies with a cup of tea and made the odd good save or two

I would put Pickford up there too
Howard, nah

My fave is still Georgie Wood
