There we go. Another "Werner replacement" brought in for around €23m on a deal till 2026. Has the pedigree; let's see if he can back it up in a better side.

- Club are still locking horns with Wolfsburg over 21-year old CB Maxence Lacroix. Two initial bids - around the €20m mark - were rejected a couple of weeks ago but doesn't seem like anything since. Wolfsburg want €30m but they're slightly undermined because Lacroix wants the move. He was given the captains armband in a recent friendly but not sure if that show of faith does anything.
- There are reports that the club have identified alternatives in Nico Schlotterbeck (Freiburg), Amos Pieper (Bielefeld) Ozan Kabak (Schalke) and Kris Ajer (Celtic) all available for €15m and below. Entered the media in a way to rush Wolfsburg? Maybe. I'm still quite confused why they're pushing so hard for another CB when they have at present 5 of them.
- Justin Kluivert, amid Leipzig interest, has been told not to come to training by new Roma boss Mourinho so he's definitely going somewhere. Is available for around €13m but was frankly mostly underwhelming last season and as a winger doesn't really have a place if Marsch sticks to his tactical roots.
- Sorloth again linked with a move away but Torino added to the list of Turkish teams. Suspect it will be loan move for around €3m. Marsch asked recently in the presser about him and admitted last season wasn't good but wants to see him over the next week.
- Returning loan players Saracchi and Lookman are 100% going as they haven't even arrived at training yet with the club citing them currently being in quarantine from travels but Saracchi is in Barcelona right now amid links to Espanyol. No clubs yet linked to Lookman.
- Marcel Sabitzer has reportedly refused to sign a new contract as expected and with the club's policy of not letting players move for free he will be off this Summer. Recently linked with some PL sides as well as Dortmund but would be shocked if he took at sideways step after his recent comments.
- Halstenberg also likely off as in the same contract situation but he'll well down on the pecking order now. Dortmund want him but Leipzig won't sell until they get Lacroix/another secured. Means there's only Gvardiol though as LB cover which is a little strange. I was hoping the club would follow up their interest in Groningen's Gabriel Gudmundsson (22) who only has 12 months left on his deal.
- Squad started training on Monday and streamed it live for fans (as well as a return to some at the training ground). The squad was fairly thin and bolstered by quite a few from the U19's. Brobbey is about 2 weeks out after muscular injuries, Szoboszlai is still not quite ready for full training and there's a raft of players on holiday post-Euros. First friendly isn't until 17th July where we'll get to see what formation Marsch goes with.
- In spite of recent striking arrival Andre Silva, as well as having a heavily stocked (regardless of quality) forward line, a reliable Belgian journo has reignited links to Lukas Nmecha (Man City) for €10-12m.
