RB Leipzig

With the impending departure of Sabitzer to Bayern there are lots of rumours of who can come in to replace him - not that anyone needs to come in. Strongly linked with a bid for wantaway Barcelona prospect Ilaix Moriba and Arsen Zakharyan of Dynamo Moscow. Both wouldn't be ready to be anymore than bit part players.

High praise from a GOAT but isn’t far wrong actually. Probably the strongest RBL squad they’ve ever had. Bit of full-back depth but that’s about it.

Heard an interview with Raphael Honigstein and he said the same thing regarding squad depth.
Either way, I’ll be following more closely this year.
Really interested to see how Marsch fares

Yeh should be a fun season! Aim is still only reaching top 4 but I feel Bayern there are for the taking. Small squad, new manager, lacklustre pre-season.

Just need Bobby L to have a stinker.

Sunday's league opener vs Mainz is on the fence after Mainz have lost 11 players and 3 staff to quarantine. You need 13 players to host the game and they have 16 at present so any more go down and the game will be off.

Think I’m going follow the Bundesliga more closely this year.
Man, how times have changed. When I lived in Germany, 1860 were in the first division and Bremen won the league!

Back in the Ailton / Johan Micoud days? I loved that whacky green/orange split kit they had.

I know people make fun of me a lot for this thread but it is a really good league to watch as a neutral.

Yes, that’s right.
In German media, it was known as Das Wunder von Bremen.
The film Das Wunder von Bern about the WC win in 1954 had been released about the same time.

Of course, there’s the issue of Bayern, but it does seem a lot more competitive than the Premier League with regards to European qualification

Interesting news overnight as Rayan Cherki's supposed agent leaked on his IG story that he's about to be sold from Lyon to RBL for €30m. Whilst he is a wonderkid that's a lot of money for another attacking mid and doing a bit of research I'm not even sure who his agent is. Either way he's one for the FM fans.
