RB Leipzig

Looks like theyre slightly off the pace this season, but still in the mix. Has Marsch been any good? Reading he has change tactics reverting to countering.

Why would they change the system when they sort of share philosophies across the RB teams, or were they forced to accept it once Nagelsmann left?

He's been okay - similar positives and negatives from his Salzburg tenure.

He's changing the system to counter-attacking, high press because that's the RB model and what they used to play before Nagelsmann arrived. He moved them away to possession ball which has confused a lot of players this season going back to the old (better) way. I'm not so confident about his ability to set teams up not to concede though. Rumours were flying round he might have been off soon.

RBL Matchday

It's an away trip to out of form Frankurt this evening but they're usually a really annoying team for Leipzig to play against. A win here takes them up to 4th in the table but there's another change of formation (again) back to the more comfortable 3 at the back. Kampl back in midfield is a bit meh as he has no legs left these days. Won't be watching as going out but fingers crossed for a nice result.

RBL Matchday

*gulp* another attempt at trying - and failing - to contain Mbappe and co. Messi is missing for this one but Neymar back. RBL need to win and Bruges have to lose for any hope now of finishing third and dropped into the Europa Leauge. Certainly no shame not coming out of this group in the top two but massive eff up if they don't finish ahead of Bruges.

Poulsen, the best player at the weekend apparently, dropped for the ineffective Silva here. Haidara, the most effective midfielder, dropped. Marsch really isn't doing so good with his selections and isn't helping his own case of "what's my best side".

A good 4-1 shellacking incoming.

He is indeed. Silva won it so took it but he's low on confidence anyway so was a poor management decision.
Just don’t understand it. A penalty taker should be defined going in so it’s not disputable. We’ve had the problem with Everton before too…a certain Kevin Mirallas comes to mind. Just such unnecessary controversy.
