RB Leipzig

Only taken them... many months but looks like the hunt for a new sporting director after Eberl's departure is coming to a close.

Marcel Schafer looks to be coming in from Wolfsburg.

RBL Matchday

Everton are making me wait till Monday night but least the boys are playing this afternoon in a key home tie vs a struggling Wolfsburg. Only 6 games left of the season and it couldn't be tighter in the race for CL qualification. There is still a slim chance a 5th position opens up depending on how the German clubs fare in the curren European competitions but 4th is (and should be) still the goal. There's only one change today with the suspended Raum being replaced by Simakan with Henrichs moving across to LB - will really stunt the attack down that side but that's what you get when you refuse to buy a proper back-up left-back in the Summer. It's also a return to RB for Ralph Hasenhuttl who is now the manager of Wolfsburg but remembered fondly in Saxony. Wolfsburg have beaten Leipzig twice already this season, somehow, so it's time for a bit of revenge.

Game is LIVE from 14.30pm

1-0 RBL

He hasn't done much since he came back from injury but Olmo reminds everyone of his quality with a cracker from outside the box.

2-0

Thank Christ for that, they've been in control but 1 goal just never is enough. Sesko to Xavi, Xavi to Sesko, goal. Good lad.

3-0

Game over, I hope. Another goal from Openda who spins his marker on the edge of the box and a trademark quick shot beats the keeper low down.

3-0 FT

Great win, nice to get a clean sheet and increase the goal difference. Sadly Dortmund also won so still in 4th ahead of them on GD but need to start making some space. Need Stuttgart to lose now and try catch them in 3rd.

2-1 victory away to Heidenheim this afternoon for Leipzig ensures they cannot finish lower than 5th this season with 3 games to go. Absolutely enormous clash next weekend vs Dortmund.

The way the CL/Europa is going 5th should be enough for a CL spot next season but better to not rely on others.

Missed the game yesterday on a stag do but gave Dortmund a royal bumming to open up a 5 point gap between the two teams in the race for the 4th CL spot (and actually only 2 off 3rd as well now).

RBL Matchday

The footballing gods don't really like me so instead of spreading out my teams just whacked them both televised on a Friday night, ah well, can't complain too much. Tonight is an away trip to bit of a mixed bag of a Hoffenheim team and with CL qualification secured it's now just trying to finish as high as possible with 3rd still a possibility with a few games left. Rose goes for an unchanged lineup from the Dortmund thumping and hoping to see more goals! Another chance to watch Anton Stach and Maxi Beier too whom I'm a massive fan of.

Game is LIVE from 19.30pm on Sky Sports Football YouTube

Schlager goes down with a slip on his knee. Historic knee problems does not look good. He's the most important player - be gutted if he misses the Euros and pre-season.

1-0 RBL

Trademark deep Raum cross, trademark Sesko header. Thought he went a little early but was just on. Great stuff.
