RB Leipzig

Diego Demme edging closer and closer to a Napoli move from somewhere between 10-15m. With Tyler Adams and Kampl (after injury) they must have decided it was too goo to turn down for a 28-year old despite him starting all league games this season. Been with RBL for 6 years and Napoli is probably a dream move as his dad is Italian and Demme is named after Diego Maradona.

If he does move he'll be a big loss but will be celebrated as a great RBL servant.

RBL player Stefan Ilsanker is currently under investigation over an alleged rape/sexual assault (Google translate) of a 26-year old woman at an apartment party on the 4th January this year whilst he was on home leave in Salzburg. Player wasn't present at RBL training this week due to a reported cold but you suspect that was just a cover whilst the news wasn't public.

CEO of RBL Oliver Mintzlaff has confirmed that Demme, after paperwork is sorted, will be moving to Napoli. Player has been pictured at the airport in Italy and the club state they did not want to sell him but he came to them and asked for a change as the Serie A has always been a dream. 12-15m for a 28-year old is financially a good deal for the club as they're well staffed in his position. Hopefully the cash will also help push the Benjamin Henrichs deal over the line.

Well, the long and boring winter break is over and football again returns to East Germany this weekend with a match at home to Union Berlin. Game is being shown live @ 5.30pm on BT Sport ESPN. Interestingly enough I've now discovered the German league completely replicates the fixture list from the first half of the season.

RBL had their sole winter friendly on Saturday and defeated VfL Osnabruck 2-0 (Haidara, Poulsen).

Still no new incomings at the club but a relatively fresh squad barring a few long term injuries.

RBL Transfer News

- Club are reported to have offered Tanguy Kouassi a 4m bonus if he rejects a pro deal with PSG and joins the Saxon club in the Summer.

- Luan Candido confirmed to be off to Red Bull's Brazilian outfit on an 18-month loan but confusing as to whether he'll come back. Sporting Director Krosche's quotes were quite non-commital:
"The likelihood is that he will be accommodated in Bragantino. Whether we rent or sell it is still open. Maybe it will also be a loan with an option to buy There is space. He needs practice." He was an 8m transfer in the Summer and played really well during pre-season so a bit strange how they've decided after his U19 performances he needs sending back. Not all transfers are a hit mind.

- Linked with Suso who is pushing for an exit from AC Milan but his preferred destination appears to be Roma. Quality player but not quite sure where he'd fit in RBL's system.

- RBL again linked with Nimes youth team goalkeeper Amjhad Nazih. The 17-year old is a France U17 international.

RBL Transfer News

- Managing Director Oliver Mintzlaff confirms Ademola Lookman is going nowhere this month: "It was certainly not an easy first half for him. Nonetheless, we believe in him and his quality, so we will certainly not loan Ademola Lookman."

- Reports in Spain suggest Josep Martinez has completed his move from Las Palmas, remaining there on loan, and will be the No. 2 to Gulacsi from the Summer suggesting Mvogo finally gets his move away from the club. Martinez was first choice for Las Palmas until end of November and has conceded just 21 goals in 16 games with 5 clean sheets in all comps.

- RBL monitoring Stoke's - and Super Kev's son - Tyrese Campbell whose contract runs out in the Summer. Facing battle to aquire signature from lots of English & Scottish teams. Not quite sure how compensation works moving abroad.

Naglesmann in his presser confirms he'd still like a defender that can cover multiple positions but the market is ' completely crazy' and sounded disappointed about Henrichs. Also made a big hint towards bringing Kouassi in now but said even if he did he wouldn't play till next season when he understands what he wants.

Well after that pile of dog wank it's time for some proper football on my TV. Tune in at 5.30pm for RBL vs Union Berlin on BT Sport ESPN.

First meeting between the two ended up 4-0 to RBL on the opening game of the season but Union are much improved since then.
