Sound that, who with? Seriously tempted. You've done that drive right?
Hoping that's where we are going next year, I've travelled up by train after a ferry from Patras to Bari but was an overnight one. * Door lashed shut with a belt on recommendation of the conductor due to thieving and chloroform.
lake garda Italy is wonderful, but idk how your kids are, it's quite sedate like

Plenty there for kids, gardaland, a waterpark, a universal studios thing, the lake, Verona, Venice. Plenty on the campsites but expensive as anything in summer, and that's if you can get in, Bella Italia is superb. You can possibly get apts cheaper but the kids love the pools and sports etc on the campsites.
Fly to Verona or Bergamo... Or do the long drive.

I know mate, was a joke!

Our gert was just looking at Turkey - 5 star, all inclusive plus for around £3k... and you get the added excitement of not knowing if you will get blown up.
Have a look at Rhodes mate.......Sun Palace Hotel is great for families as is the Resort, beach and location. It's Faliraki...... but Faliraki is a lively family resort these days. Club 18-30 etc don't even come here now because it's turned in to a family resort. A lot more to do than Kos 100% .... plus..... we can catch up and have a few pints lol.

Fine hotel.
Beach ties with Varadero in Cuba as the best I have experienced.
You are captive though. Nowhere nearby to stroll out to. OK as a fly and flop destination and the small aircraft Thomson use ensure an uncomfortable journey for anyone around the 6ft mark.
Yep, agree with all that. I kind of liked the remoteness of it, a 10 minute walk up the beach and you were on you're own. One day a pod of whales went past which was amazing to see just off the beach.
What I found quite funny was the road from the airport, TUI and the Cape Verde government went halves on it, but instead of pooling the money together they built half each, one half is like an off road dirt track and the other is perfect!
