Referees v Everton

What bothers me about the shirt pull is that they’re using the excuse “both players were pulling the shirt”. No decision is not a decision. Which player fouled first or committed the most egregious foul? If the decision is in favour of Brentford and you play advantage leading to the red card, then fine: say that. That we’ve been palmed off with a flimsy excuse once more is the worst of it.

Also, because they’ve fobbed us off with the non-decision, it rules out any grounds for an appeal because the ref/VAR reviewed it (and did nothing) at the time.

Total mess.
2 lads were recently sent off in a league one game for both doing a two footed challenge on each other so if they were both doing it why did they not just leave them alone if you use the shirt pulling logic

When he pulls the red on Branthwaite, several Everton players point out the foul on Richarlson , including the player himself.
Had he had any common sense he would have known this issue needed addressing. Instead he ignores the protests. He had watched it happen, he knew it had happened , yet he refuses to ask var to back him up. I can only surmise he knew he would have to give the penalty. Otherwise if you are that sure you would say " sure, I'll just check"
Egotistical fool, wallowing in his ability to wield power.

Fair officiating would have been a Penalty to Everton for the Richarlison shirt stealing, cancel the red card that occurred seconds after it and a second yellow given when we did get a penalty i.e a red card to Brentford and they see the game out with 10 men.

That is the reality of the impact that these corrupt bell whiffs had on this game and us getting safe in the PL.

They can all koff tbh, had enough of this entire season.

What else do we expect from a Newcastle fan though.
Probs would have given us the penno if his hero Benitez was still our manager.
Bell end.

RS match refs:

Dean 5 (hello Dad, fancy seeing you here!), Marriner, Taylor, Oliver, Moss 4 Atwell, Tierney 3 Pawson, Kavanagh, Atkinson 2 A Madley, Friend 1

Yes, a more balanced spread and, some might argue been given some of the so-called better refs. We have had the rubbish ones - too much Madley, Pawson for us.
There are two clubs (yes, only 2) in the entire Premier who are notified of possible officials well in advance of the match. Therefore, if either of theses two clubs (yes, only 2) do not want the appointed officials they can reject them in favour of other alternatives.
It is, therefore, imperative said officials will give these clubs many favourable decisions as they can. Should they fail to do so, they will not be selected for important matches or cup games or European games. Loss of kudos, and, loss of income and associated perks.

Spoiler alert; both teams play in red and are located in the North West of England.

(Apologies, as I know it is a toughie).

This is the bigger problem imo
If the decisions against us were against the top 6 the media would be all over it and the refs would be somewhat more accountable but as it's us, the media don't want to highlight it, they focus on everything but because why badmouth the 'beautiful game' that butters their bread when it's just an also ran like Everton. I think Lampard should slate them, whats the worst that could happen? a series of charges and fines? That would definitely highlight it more. Relegation could cost us far more than a series of fines and if we go we need to go pointing that finger and screaming. They just want us to be silent and shrug our shoulders with the clearly false 'adage' of 'these things even out over the course of a season' bs
A video highlighting EVERY garbage decision this season needs to be compiled, complete with time/score of incident, and final score.
This has to be made public with Everton Football Club stating irrefutable evidence is in the hands of their lawyers.
The FA, the EPL and the Referee's governing body need to be informed this evidence will be taken to EUFA, and also FIFA. Damages will be sought relating to image rights and all loss of earnings and TV monies and associated benefits of lost advertising rights and sponsorship deals will be claimed due to the total ineptitude of the employees of the FA et al.
Attack the biased gits and issue a summons and include a substantial sum for the unnecessary stress they have caused, which is an addition to the claim.

Q). What is the collective noun for the FA the EPL and the Referee' Association?
A). Coprophiliacs (a word which just screams out to be spelt with a capital 'K').

Making a huge deal of Brentford shirt pulling in the box might not be a great idea tbh.
It might not be if was the only incorrect decision we have had against us. This season alone there have been numerous, and well documented.
So what do we do? Say nothing? We have done that for years, which has led us to where we are now.
Oh, it's only Everton. They wont make a fuss. Right, who's round is it?

Give me strength!

I don't think that the poor decisions are definitively match fixing in a 'money in the back pocket' kind of way, but nor do I think that it is plainly down to incompetency of refereeing.

After taking some time to think about the officiating over the past few seasons and the introduction of VAR, whilst also witnessing the rise in 'clickbait' media outlets such as TalkSport (this will be relevant in a second)...

My opinion is that the controversial decisions made on the pitch by referees and in the VAR room are semi-deliberate in order to generate conversation in the football world. I think that VAR has been brought in to control the decisions in a match, in order to suit the narrative that the PL want, but NOT correct wrong decisions to the letter of the footballing-law.

Fans talking about poor decisions and it being discussed on Talk Sport etc., is essentially money in the back pocket of the Premier League, by generating interest/conversation and ultimately resulting in increased TV audiences, merchandise and ticket sales. Because fans will ultimately want to tune-in, so they don't miss out on the next controversial talking point. This is basically aligning with a Premier League strategy to become the most-popular/talked about/watched league in the world = more money for the PL = more money for clubs to spend through TV revenue = more world-class players in the league. See: Haaland transfer.

In addition to this, a point which has been talked about recently, is the need for the TV broadcasters to have a product to sell all the way up until the last day of the season. It's no good having City wrap up the league in March and 3 teams relegated in April. If this was the case, who would tune in and give Sky Sports, etc., their hard-earned money to watch a pointless game at £30+ per month?

So ultimately my concluding point, is that the poor refereeing is deliberate (but not direct match-fixing or favourable/biased to any one team) in order to continue the cash cow that is the PL. To sell a product.

Think you are missing the point here that the last thing we need is for Brentford to be penalised for this on Sunday.
