I agree with your overall point but I do think the last line works both ways. The 2 go hand in hand to an extent, people build them up to knock them down. There have been shed loads of posts in this thread saying lock it it’s never happening but the reality we’re still ticking along in the region of a point a game and struggling to score goals. This isn’t the end off the world and I think we’ll end up safe but we also need to be realistic that relegation isn’t a mad shout, we’re likely to be looking at the gap to the bottom 3 for a sizeable chunk of the season I think.
Correct. People moaning that people are moaning about a defeat to United need to reflect that people were heralding a win against the mighty Southampton as evidence of a top seven push. The great thing is we have competed in every single game this season. If we can do that across the entire 38 match programme, we will likely be comfortable. But yes, we are very much in the lower section of the table until we are demonstrably not.

Somehow beat Spurs and we're equal with the 10-game tally we had in 2007/08. That turned out OK.

Ditto 2008/09, when we had a point fewer after nine games.

Literally the only positives I can pick out right now. So much of last season reared its head in the 1st half yesterday.

Worrying times.

And yet we only lost 2-1. Find that promising myself.

Ive got an idea, ready?…

Let’s not get over excited by beating a team like Southampton but also let’s pretend that a couple of defeats doesn’t automatically mean we will get relegated.?
In fairness most are realistic, but I reckon the ones who are all over the place probably don’t sit down and actually watch the games and then make wild judgements based on a result.

Bloody sensible realist advising against going OTT. Pfft.

Was more important the win against southampton would have liked a draw last night. I hope we get a reaction from the team now. For some reason people in here just want to react after every result and have a negative view.
