If we haven't got around 17/18 pts by Xmas we're screwed. That's at least two wins and a draw we need before the break.

NEW 0-2
CRY 1-0
FUL 1-1
LEI 2-1
BOU 2-2

Please god....

Aye, but let's be honest, if we cannot pick up maximum points against Palace and Leicester at home and remain undefeated in the away games, then we once again fully deserve a relegation battle.

I remember very well this time last season and people sticking their heads in the sand saying things like "our form will pick up, we'll put a run together soon" and it literally didn't happen until Lampard came in, and even then his results were pretty crap and it took a freak result against Palace to save us.

From these next 5 fixtures, if we cannot pick up a minimum 8 points then we are royally screwed and 100% battling for survival this season.

It really does come to something when games against kin Newcastle are nowadays deemed Mr Moshiri Expected Defeats, and would you feel confident going to Fulham and taking the points? I sure don't.

18 points from 15 games is of course ever so slightly above what you generally need to stay up in terms of points:games ratio, as would even 6 from the next 5 games, but it definitely won't be looking good for us with many favourable fixtures having been played.

People, including yourself, also said in April last year that we were down and had no chance of picking up points against Chelsea, Leicester and United, and that anyone who thought we could stay up was deluded. We survived because we picked up more points than 4 other teams, not because of a one-off freak result.

We got beat by a team who was at home who have a world class strikers and an elite manager who have been beaten once this season and currently lay 3rd in the table, deep down we probably all expected a defeat because that's where we are at the moment. We missed 2 huge chances (Onana & Gray) the way we are set up and especially away from home we need to put them away or at least one of them, then it changes the whole dynamic of the game.

We are almost a new team from last season it will take time and id guess the longer the season goes on the better we will be.

I'm sick of hearing last season last season, this isn't last season we have different players and manager, we wont go on a 10-12 game unbeaten run and we certainly wont go 3 months without winning a game.

We will be more than just fine this season and that's progress.

Forget Newcastle. That's a defeat.

The Palace game is almost as huge as the last time we played them.

Four defeats on the run will cement us in the relegation shake up and will cause morale to ebb away fast.

They looked dogged against Leicester yesterday and are well capable of causing an upset at Goodison unless someone finds their scoring boots.

I really think we're going to have to pray that the powers that be at Everton have secured two very decent strikers in January or we WILL be relegated this season, no question. Only Richarlison's goals prevented it last season. A team that cant score is in big trouble in this league.

NO!

How can anyone hope to get a point there?

This team are on the slide.

We need to draw a line in the sand against Palace and hope to get back on track.
You do know we are playing Newcastle and not City or Liverpool?

Its 'kin Newcastle.

We are not on the slide, ok 2 defeats on the bounce but against Spurs and Utd are hardly alarming defeats are they.

They have momentum and players who can find the net and they are at home.

3-1 Newcastle.

They’re also playing United today, a team they very rarely beat (three wins in the last 10 years)
Away from home, we could have got a result against a strong Spurs. We're going to Newcastle, who could be nine points behind them, but we're certain to lose.

I don't get the logic of some people: it'll be difficult, however it'll be even more difficult if we go with a mentality of already having lost it.
