Palace are safe - they always had the kindest remaining fixtures and they need to average less than a point per game now for safety, you can forget them

According to Nate Silver and co, they have literally less than a 1% chance of relegation now

Appreciate they’re constantly changing but I just can’t get my head around Leeds having half as much chance of going down as us . Also I know a result of two can change a game but I’m sure Leicester were down as Almost no chance the other week and are now a fav , which sort of indicates isn’t not worth a great deal really.

Smith: you judge a manager on their fit for the job in hand and their recent past. Has Smith had experience fighting a relegation battle successfully at this stage of the season? Did he do well in his last job? No.

What am I basing Leicester being cut adrift on? They've lost 11 of the their last 15 games, taken 1 point from the last 24 on offer, they play City away next, after that they play a Wolves team that are much better than them and then an away match at Leeds which they'll be second favourites in.

I can easily see Leicester still on 25 oints by the time they play Everton.
Going on that basis Dave then surely Everton should not have employed SD?

Smith, JT and Shakey have the experience of successfully getting a PL club out of the mess that Leicester is in. I think you are looking through blue tinted glasses thinking that Leicester will be cut adrift.

Are you on the Brighton and Brentford forums talking about the Europa league battle .
Or why are you on an Everton forum talking relegation when It has nothing to do with your club ?

Last few weeks I was very calm and somewhat confident we would be ok. After the round of games past I'm now worried as its Leicester in the bottom 3. New manager, tielemans back after city game, Dewsbury-Hall back from suspension. That last place I fear is a shoot out between us and Leeds and they are the 1s with goals in their team.

Alot of ifs here .
But if we beat Fulham the weekend that we should.
And city beat Leicester the weekend which they should .
A draw for us against them when we meet and they won't finish ahead of us for me .
Agreed. If we do what we really have to do - and barring Pep imploding - we should be five points clear of Leicester next weekend. Then, we manage our games. A draw at theirs will surely keep us above them. At the very least, it makes it very hard for them to catch us. And if we blow a five point lead over them with some of the matches we have left, well, we can't complain.

I still think Bournemouth and Leeds are sides we can finish above.

All of this is moot if we can't beat Fulham. That game is the key to avoiding straight jackets and padded mental cells in May.

Fulham at home is normally a guaranteed three points for us. Hopefully that'll be the case on Saturday.

It sure is tight down there, anyone from Southampton right up to Wolves in 13th could go down. I just hope that we'll be sitting in a seat, when this game of musical chairs does eventually stop.

Just nice to be out of the drop zone without the game in hand the others had over us. I'd have taken that a fortnight ago.
The chat on here was after Chelsea, Spurs, United we could be 20th, as it is others have slid and we have held ground on the teams in 14th-16th.
The concern I would have is Wolves, West Ham and Palace look like they are too far away atm so the teams involved are reducing by the week.
This is to be expected but where before i was relying on finishing above Forest to get safe, Bournemouth have taken away that safety net and there is a good chance we will need to finish above either Leicester or Leeds to stay up.
Next game huge, if we can put 4pts daylight then it will lift confidence and GP bouncing will drag us over the line 🤞

I don't think we've lost a league game to Fulham at home since the 60's. Hopefully that record will still be intact at the final whistle this Saturday.

We're running out of games now. Hopefully we won't pay the price for not getting rid of Lampard before the world cup.

We lost 2-0 at home to them in the Covid season under Ancelotti.
