Really think a lot of people are overreacting, but that isn’t anything new. We’ve had a tough run of United, Spurs, Newcastle. Two of which, even though we played poorly, there was the chance of stealing a point from United and Newcastle. We are at home Saturday to Crystal Palace. This is the perfect opportunity for us to regroup, settle ourselves, and let the Goodison faithful back the team in a game that is very much winnable.

Beat Palace and nobody will be talking about it for a few weeks.
Yup. This x 100. All winnable games coming up before the WC, 3 points on the board and everything is rosey again. - And with it being Palace at home, after the drama of last season, I fully expect everyone to find an extra 10% in the tank as if it were a derby. Manager, players, crowd - everyone will be up for it. Absolute home banker I am sure!

Well, I am all about fairness. Why treat anybody unfairly. If you are going to appoint a man to be your manager, give him a fair go. Otherwise, why appoint him at all? For what it's worth, I don't think the board was at all fair to Allardyce or Benitez. One was sacked despite taking us to 8th and early safety, while the other was sacked after being given 1.7m quid to spend of a summer. I mean, you could argue that they should never have been appointed, but if you are going to appoint them give them a bloody chance. It's utterly self defeating. Sadly, I suspect they've done it again with the Lampard appointment. He was hired because they needed a human shield to keep the pressure off them. Frank had the perfect face. But he's here now and I think he's doing his level best and committing to the challenge. Do I think he will succeed? No. But he deserves to have a fair crack at it. I mean, we're resembling the Conservative party now in our venal, mendacious management.

Premier League teams seldom give anyone a fair chance or give them a grace period for past good work. And historically, many managerial changes do give the team a boost. And when you are trying to stay out of the bottom 3, a boost can often be the difference. Also, the people that sack you are usually complicit in the player talent on the team and they would rather blame the manager than admit the players are not good enough.

Why? I care about Everton and would rather somebody with a proven track record managing us.
Because him being given a fair crack of the whip would just mean he was being given an opportunity to win games, and if you care about Everton I’d have thought you’d want us to win games whoever was in charge. It seems like you’d rather we lost under someone with a track record (like Benitez) than won under lampard, which is weird.

Benitez was the dumbest hire the club has ever made and we're still dealing with the effects of it today. But Lampard was not the right successor and currently has a similar win percentage to Rafael

All the more reason not to change manager unless it’s really necessary I’d have thought? ‘The club has been terrible at appointing managers so we should get them to appoint another one for the hell of it’ might not be the killer argument you think it is.

I’m not entirely sure on lampard and have openly questioned him, but he’s here and we should give him the opportunity to show what he can do. If he fails then he’ll have to go, but we’re not at that stage yet.

So what is failure to you? Relegation zone by world Cup?

Personally I think we keep lampard, and change only if we are in danger. He needs time, this may ultimately prove he’s not the man for us, but it may not.

We can’t keep changing the manager every 20-30 games… it gets us nowhere… or only closer to the trap door…
Yeah, look at what changing under performing managers did for Chelsea!!!!
