We'd better beat Palace, that's all I can say.

I dont know how we do that, but if we dont then the slide is underway to the bottom of this league.

I really wouldn't bet right now against us reaching the WC at the bottom of the PL table.

If you dont score you dont survive...and we look like we can play for hours and never trouble a GK.
They tend to take a while to get going in games which is why we need to score first and set our stall out and get a firm foot in the game. It will be a hard game imo, Palace have Zaha, Eze, and Olise who can all create, so options from out wide and in the middle (this is what we need to do longer term imo) and Edouard can finish up top. We are going to be at home and we just have to offer a bit more of a threat in an attacking sense and that applies to the whole team, we have to let the shackles off here.

They're scrapping for points and getting them against teams like us. We will be exactly what they want to face right now. And this is a grudge match.

I cant see us getting a win, tbh. A draw is about the best we'll get.

We're in big trouble.

Have to keep in mind that we're a quarter of the way through the season and our primary striker and main goalscorer has started only 1 game. The first four was it we played without any attacking option beyond Rondon and Alli. We've got a favourable run coming up, Dominic Calvert-Lewin building match fitness and possible business to be done in January. We wont score a lot, but it'll be enough to avoid any real relegation risk.

We will know a lot more by the World Cup break. As much as Everton fans see potential wins over the next 4, so do the fans of each of the teams playing them. They need a minimum of 7 points in those 4 games to feel any comfort.

I think we are lucky there is alot of rubbish in the league, I think Fulham and Bournemouth will start dropping down the league... Wolves and villa are also a bit of a mess

If Villa sack slippy then I'd expect them to start progressing up the table with the squad they have, similarly would expect a bounce from Wolves when they get their new manager.

I expect Leicester to find a bit of form at some point and pull themselves out, they've got too much talent in that squad to be stuck down there.

We need to be very careful and start picking up points fast or we'll be right in the mixer. Again.

Twenty points before Xmas and twenty after keeps you up, they had better start soon.

Yeah, was thinking 8 from 12 points min for me, but if ever there was a run of fixtures to put a run of wins together thats what it would look like.

We haven’t only played 3 games though, we’ve played 11. You can’t write off games homes and away against the top 7 if you don’t make up the shortfall elsewhere. So far we haven’t done that (or looked like it), hence the conversation. Hopefully we win the next couple and this thread sinks into oblivion but at the moment it’s not unreasonable to be talking about it.
You may recall for the first 3-4 we didnt have a single striker or a midfield.

I think you absolutely can write of home and away games against the top 7, teams get relegated becuse they cant beat #16 and #17, not because they cant beat the teams in Europe. After those first two matches where the only new front 6 player was McNeil, we have been unbeaten against 7-20, and lost 3 to 0-6(2 of which were away). Sometimes form is just who you are playing.

This is such a weird cliche. Teams get relegated because they don't get enough points over the course of the season, who they come against is irrelevant.

To be fair though, i'd forgotten that we could invoke the PL's 'we weren't ready' clause if got relegated, so I feel a lot better now.
