What do we all reckon it’ll be like when it’s confirmed? I would normally expect pitch invasions to confront the players, verbal altercations with the board (if they dare to show their faces again) etc. However, I do feel there’s now a sense of apathy and almost resignation to our fate. Goodison just sounded so flat yesterday, I don’t think any of us are up for the fight like we were last season.

It'll get nasty and turn to the board.

Mosh and the board will get hammered in the media, and from a PR point of view they'll hate it.

One of the board will eventually come out and say something probably a month after it happens.

Then because of the bad press...Mosh will probably look to sell up which could be bad for us in the championship as he'll need to plug a £90mill drop in finances that he probably doesn't want to do.

If forest and Leeds lose today and tomorrow then we are in no worse of a position than the start of yesterday, granted some a pulling away but it was always going to be between us, Leeds and forest to go down with Southampton, but we have the added bonus of Leicester being in there too, keep your heads guys.

For me, I was very aware just how important yesterday was.

What I saw, absolutely terrified me. Everything about us was flat, from the performance from the first minute through to the fans, who almost accepted it was game done, as soon as Fulham scored their opener. We always have the passion from the fanbase, so to see us so flat and accepting of defeat, that was a concern for me.

Midfield has nothing about it, attack toothless and wingbacks were utterly hopeless.

Got 7 games to go and I’m not really sure where the wins come from now? Bloody hell, yesterday was terrible.

Leicester do have better players though. Basically Rogers ego have put them in a position they shouldn't be in and haven't fixed it.

Still think they'll get out at our expense. Especially when we give them 3 points in a few weeks

Yes, Leicester have had a bad run losing 9 of their last 10 but that 2nd half performance vs City will have given them a boost and they now have what many would consider a run of 3 or 4 “winnable” fixtures - Wolves, Leeds, Everton and Fulham.

In that same time their rivals play:

West Ham: Arsenal, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Palace
Everton: Palace, Newcastle, Leicester, Brighton
Leeds: Liverpool, Fulham, Leicester, Bournemouth
Forest: Man Utd, Liverpool, Brighton, Brentford
Southampton: Arsenal, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Forest

It’s really tough to call. I still think even Southampton could even turn it around as their performances have been better than their results. One win and they’ll be back amongst others.

I have to agree.

I'd make us 3rd favourites to go down now. As things stand it'll be:

17th Leicester
18th Everton
19th Forest
20th S'ton

And yes this does feel like Burnley away last season. We're staring down the barrel. It's all down to losing our settled starting line up.

I cant believe that after that very good Chelsea draw that we'd miss out on adding at least another 3 points from two home games.

There's no way Leicester dont get motivated by our slip ups.

I didnlt see this coming. The starting line up had me panicking but we fought back to a good platform in that match at HT. To capitulate from there in the situation we're in was shocking. It's rocked me.
Heads dropped after Fulham's second goal. Unacceptable. Both the players on the park and the manager had a mare today. The only one who can hold his head up after that is McNeill.

Sadly Tom, there was no some about it - it was rife yesterday or at least where I sit. Usually, it's buoyant and raucous, but now people are emotionally drained.

I'm far from a boo boy, yet even at the end that was somewhat half-hearted because a) so many had left, and b) the attitude was mainly one of resignation.

We stood, we talked and there was no anger; in fact, some were even making jokes. The common thread is that there is a malaise within the fan base.

Will we push the club over the line like last year? God, I hope so, but I won't be betting on it as there doesn't appear to be the appetite for it.

I think last year, people being happy that Rafael went probably helped too

There isn't really much to celebrate this year

Exactly my feelings.

The only way we are staying up is if Forest, Leicester and Southampton do worse than us. You couldn't count on these players for anything. There is nothing in them that even slightly resembles Everton. Best to resign yourself to probable relegation which is what the club deserves for what they have all done to it, players and hierarchy.
I'm torn on this. Sometimes I think relegation would be a good thing so that this club can cleanse itself of all the toxic waste and get back to something simpler one can identify with a bit more again. But then I'm deathly afraid that it will destroy this club and that there's no real coming back from that. It's just painful to realize the depths of mismanagment that has eroded this mighty club we all love at break-neck speed.

This is also true for my club in my home country, Hertha BSC. A fee years ago, they a solid club with a nice manager ending most seasons at 10th or 11th. But they were also endlessly greedy, thirsty for growth and quick successes. They enslaved themselves to a shady investor and scoured the transfer landscape as if they were playing FIFA, mindlessly buying 'promising talent' and washed up has beens (e.g. a 33 year old Kevin Prince Boateng who can barely walk anymore) without minding how all the parts could fit together. Well, now they are last in the Bundesliga, just got battered 5-2 by a godawful Schalke team and in case of relegation might not have the money to afford the required licenses for professional football.

See the parallels?
I was quite happy in the Moyes era. I also quite enjoyed Brown Shoes' short reign. But ever since Moshiri entered the picture this club has lost its mind. They also lost sense for what we're supposed to be, the People's club.

Apparently we'll also have to pay back a 150 million loan upon relegation. And we'll still have to pay about 500 million for the new stadium.
