That's far from my outlook.

I see the danger and acknowledge it...you just wont countenance that Leicester can really be as bad as they actually are and will get more than the 36 points I reckon Everton will end up on.

I think all the teams in the bottom 5 are bad, hence them being in the bottom 5.

I dont consider us in a better position that any of them.

All the clubs down there are floundering, roll a dice to whichever can find safety.

Last season we seemed to get results when although pressure was high - expectation was off - Chelsea/Man Utd at Goodison spring to mind.

Fulham was devastating for us.

I'm looking at the fixture list and struggling to see where the points come from.

We've won once all season away, Southampton 1st Oct.

Crystal Palace Away - always a tough game for us - it had gone toxic there, they've appointed a manager who their players like and they've got the players to get out of it. They've won 3 on the spin - a point would be a good result.

Newcastle Home. Under the lights - I think our most likely chance of 3 points until the end of the season. If we have Coleman, Onana, and Calvert-Lewin in.

Leicester Away - fighting for their lives. Our away form, Leicester having very good players and a new manager doesn't bode well.

Brighton Away - tough game, hopefully chance of europe drops off and they're on holiday.

Man City Home - say no more.

Wolves Away - I struggle to have any confidence for any away game

Bournemouth Home - They've battered us the last 4 times we've played them, and it could be out of our hands by then.

This.

And THIS.

FFP needs a real rethink on how it is implemented. I am a supporter of the idea behind FFP but the implementation is poor. Rather than looking to penalise Everton with points and or a fine, FFP should be forcing Mosh to have the stadium ownership as a core part of Everton Football Club that can never be disassociated from the club. If the sh1t really hits the fan and relegation and even a push to administration then an investor will jump in at the last minute to save EFC as there would be huge potential to increase its value. But, if the club has lost its ground and has a huge contract for rent for many years to come it would be so much more difficult to find an investor. I am not saying this will happen to EFC, I am just using EFC as an example. The same principle applies to all clubs. Football is part of the fabric of English culture and investors should be prevented from asset stripping a club's ground from them,

Of course. The PL and EFL have different rules too which are far more strict.

Hence why I do feel that if we're relegated, Moshiri will look to cut ties asap so the onus will be to sell to these investment firms looking to get their feet in a billion pound industry. These don't have the clubs best interests but themselves.

The statement that Moshiri has said he would float more money for 12 months if we're relegated, none of it is legally binding, just gives me the worry he's gonna relinquish ownership. And what I said previously is the logical way he'd do it

I don't think Mosh has a hope in hell of getting anywhere near 1Bn. I appreciate there is inflation but Toon sold for 305m and Villa sold for about 105m. Each of the 3 clubs would be seen as having fairly equal potential for growth.

He's sunk £700mill of his own money and building a stadium. We're one foot into the Championship.

Any options to make a chunk of that money back he'll take imo

I was thinking something similar over the last few days.

My conclusion, though, is that we have used our "tradition" and "history" as a crutch that at some point simply has to be kicked away. Everything about the culture of Everton has been corrupted. The man who is responsible for the culture is the Chairman, who has been on the board almost since Kendall's original departure. He has placed his cronies in positions of influence and his "pluckly underdogism" and "good times" vibes have seeped like toxins through the walls of the club.

Being the longest-serving ever-present club in the top flight was another "good time" to hide behind. Even being in the Premier League itself - despite never competing - was held up as further evidence of good times.

All of this will now pass. It will be painful, and we could well be in the wilderness for years, but if the club (i.e., the fanbase) is as strong as I think it to be, all of this will be survivable and necessary for our eventual revival.

It's clear that the culture needs to be reset, I agree, and though none of us will dare say this or even try to think it, what might relegation do for us that is positive? So far, 'good times' meant just being in the premier league, now it would have to be replaced by something else. I would be really worried about relegation because we just don't have a winning mentality to consistently play well and win 20-25 games that we'd need to get promoted.

Culture is crucial and it does come from the top. There's a pretty good example in Wrexham, where the owners are creating this amazing feel-good vibe. There are also examples in the chaos at Chelsea currently, and then on the positive front, how Brighton seem to have an idea (like the Red Bull group) of a 'type' of manager they need to do well.

I just have this horrible feeling that the daily rituals, equipment, practices, the people at the club are all in a trance of mediocrity and fear, and even physios, backroom staff, doctors, trainers, management staff, PR, admin etc etc all need to have this feeling of success and ambition, and I feel like none of them have .What we see on the outside - no clear direction and forward momentum - has to permeate the entire club and get through to the players.

The notion that we have a substantially harder run in than Leicester is for the birds. And that's the only measure we need worry about.

This is all about staying where we are and fending off a team that's won once in their last 9 matches. The noton that Dean Smith is a good manager is laughable.

KIn hell dave. We are on the exact same stats as them. Won 6. Drew 9. Lost 16.
I wouldnt be to quick throwing out the word appalling as an Everton fan.

Our form under Dyche is markedly better.

Forest have no big changes to make. They have a massive squad with plenty of options for rotation and the manager won’t change now. And yet they’ve actually gotten worse.

That's comparing applesd with pears. Compare us under Dyche to what they;ve done in the last 10/11 games...and we dont have their run in...which is off the charts bad.
