Leeds won't beat Leicester and I would be astonished if we get anything against Newcastle. We need to be winning games not drawing them.
But there's a contradiction here: if you're saying Leeds wont win their most obvious;y winnable game they have left then they aren;t going to win the next two after for sure and they;d be in freefall..so why is a draw against Leicester for us not good enough?

That is my thinking.

We have just about survived last season and this season might go the same way and no doubt we will struggle next season as well with a potential punishment if found guilty by this commitee.

Take our medicine and get relegated so we have can have a full reset from the board, owner and the big earners off the wage bill.

I think if we go down this time we'll probably be down again not too soon after

Relegation here and we're Sunderland

I actually fancy us to beat Leicester...as we have on the last two occasions down there against much better Leicester teams. In fact, we've won 4 of our last 6 games at their ground.

Horses for courses.
If Leeds turn them over, I'd be more inclined to agree with you than not, because I feel that would deflate them immensely.
I just don't feel we have that potential luck presently.

I don’t think we can ignore Forest. They play a Brighton side with 120 minutes in their legs at home where they have been good, and they still have Southampton at home to come. They’re Not down yet.
They'll underline exactly how unfit for this league they are by failing to get a win against Brighton on Wednesday.

I said last night that Brighton have had 2 games in 8 days. They aren't going to be running on fumes for that game against Forest. They had to play 3 games in 8 days in late December/early January and in March.

You had to be too young to for that to have had any effect.
I was 12 and chose Everton cos it was a 10 min walk as opposed to 30 mins to Anfield. I watched a few games in the RS relegation season and got thumped for laughing when they lost. First season up second home game we beat Preston with 76,000 crowd. My friend's dad panicked in the Gladys St crush and had to be passed over fans heads to the front. Great days.

Under Dyche we haven't lost more than two in succession. With our better players coming back in I dont expect that to happen on the run in either.

If that pattern holds at worst we'll get posts from at least 4 games. We have to make sure that at least 2 are wins to really place Leeds or Leicester in trouble,.

Leeds are in freefall though. Tbh I couldn't care less what other teams are doing I'm more interested in what we do and we need to win games to pull clear. let's see what happens on Thursday.

If Leeds lose then I think Ild prefer that now.

I couldn;t see them winning at B'mouth and certainly not at City. That would hand is three fixtures to overhaul them and then stay out in front of them.

I just dont believe in Leicester though. I think they're as rank bad as all of us down there. They got very lucky on Saturday to come back into that game and scramble a win.

I've siad this before and I'll repeat it: that point against Palace away has been VERY inder-rated...both the point and what it could mean and the manner of the performance.

It was "a dull game" the experts said...which is exactly what a relelgation threstaned club had to make it at a dangerous opposition's ground.

That might be priceless in terms of the final standings and in the way it's drawn a line under the previous two losses and provided a basis for better results.

What has to be borne in mind is that other teams are in the same position as us, in fear of losing the next 2-3 games on the bounce, and being deep in it. It's simply up to us to now get the results to drag ourselves clear.

It's no more complicated than that. Whether we CAN pull ourselves clear is another matter altogether...

Well, I hope we never have to experience it.

It's different for us. No one posting on here has ever seen our club in the second tier. Almost 70 years unbroken top flight status.

That wasn't the case for Villa fans.

Only Arsenal fans if they were relegation threatened could understand this current turmoil we wrestle with.
I would suspect most Villa fans had little or no recollection of relegation either. We went down in '86/'87 and came straight back up and prior to that it was in the first half of the 1970s, unfortunately, that is over 50 years ago now. YoYos go up and down and up and down and so on, being relegated from the top flight twice in the last 73 years is hardly yoyo.
