Yes, we are Everton. Since Dyche took over we have lost against;

Villa who are flying
Arsenal top of the league
Liverpool who beat us every game
Fulham who are flying aswell
And Man Utd who are always hard to beat at OT

I just think people are getting way ahead of themselves. This was never going to be easy, however we look way better than under Lampard and we always look like we are in games. However first goal is so important to us and I think we will need that against Newcastle.

But yeah, let’s not lose faith. Sean’s job has been and still is to finish 17th. That’s it, and we are still in the running to do that.
Fulham were not flying.
All for optimism (I don't have much atm), but let's be reasonable.

The Fulham game second half the team looked fearful.

Palace away looked back to a determined performance, which I think has typified Dyche's time here.

If this lot can pull off another spcatcular at Goodison it'll go some way to getting us over the line.

I feel we have to beat one of Newcastle or Leicester (or draw both) to keep us in with a chance. We’re absolutely more than capable with Onana Doucoure and Calvert Lewin back.

It is certainly squeaky bum time if u don't pick up some points from the next two. Ideally, it will be 3 points from Leicester as that will keep them in the mix for relegation and it would be much better to have it one from three going into the last couple of games than one from two to join Forst and Saints

We have 7 games left.

Our last 7 games (when we've been without key personnel for 3 of those games) saw us play Forest (away) Brentford, Chelsea, Spurs, United, Fulham and Palace. We got 7 points from those games.

If we can manage that against those teams (a tally that'd get us to 35 points) then we should be able to get the same again or more with players coming back.

We need one right against the grain as it were. Taking down Newcastle on Thursday would set us up nicely. Beating B'mouth on the final day should be a decent shout. We'd just need another win or couple of draws.

I like your optimism and it does give me a little hope.

Given that we've won 6 out of the last 32 it just seems unlikely we'd win 3 of our next 6.

Maybe beating Leicester and Bournemouth and then a point against Wolves could be enough? Even that feels like a stretch though.

It may also be the case that if Leeds fail to get a point in the next 3 games - highly possible - then a low points tally can get us home. Say another 6/7 points to end up on 33/34.

I have to say though that I'm unconvinced by Leicester. Their games get tougher once they get past us...and that will be a hell of a struggle in and of itself if they get turned over by Leeds.

Right now Ild say two wins from anywhere plus a draw makes any one of Everton, Leeds or Leicester tough to get past.

Ild also say that our draw against palace suggests we still have a manager and team still right up for this. If Leeds in particular lose the next one against Leicester to add to their not arsed performances of late then they have to have a huge question mark over their morale. As said, if they lose their next 3 matches they'll be relegated.

All depends on what Leeds do in their next 3 games. If they get a single point from them then we'll have a big opportunity to get past them.

We can do the permuatations all day though.

But what I would say - and this is what struck me more on Saturday than dropping into the relegation zone due to Leicester's win - is that our perfromance against Palace bodes well for the run in. Depleted but well organised and also carrying a threat of a goal, we quietened a good palace attack down and took what could prove to be a vital point.

I think Leeds (29 points/-21 goal difference) and Bournemouth (33 points/-32 goal difference) are going to get sucked in.

Leicester (28points/-13 goal difference) have it in their hands a bit more than us but two big games next.

Also keep an eye on West Ham (34 points/-8 goal difference) have a tough next 4 v Liverpool, Palace, City and Man United and Wolves, 5 points ahead but United, Arsenal, Brighton plus Villa.

If we can grab 4/6 points in our next two v Newcastle and Leicester. I think we will secure safety faster than last year but 36/37 points could do it.

For me:

18th - Leeds
19th - Forest
20th - Southampton
This entire thing made my head hurt. You think Bournemouth and West Ham could still be in it (on 33 and 34 points) but think 36/37 points should be safety. Wolves are left out of it, despite being between Bournemouth and below West Ham (who have a game in hand) and we just need to grab a draw and a win or 2 wins...I admire the optimism, but that's a lot of bad luck for all the other teams and sudden good luck for us.

IMO, it's down to us, Southampton, Forest, Leicester and Leeds now. I don't have us winning again, but have us staying up by a point lol and that's me being pessimistic too.

I must admit Leeds are terrible. Impossible to predict really.

DCL being in the side gives everyone a boost. Things may just click with him in the team.

It’s not pure profit no but Tosun, Delph, Sigurdsson, James, Digne, Richarlison, Mina probably averaged 100+kpw and there’s no way any of those recent signings are close to that, let alone the fact we’ve lost more than we’ve signed.

I know it’s crap but I don’t think it’s quite as crap as it was and I think there’ll be a bit of wiggle room especially after we get paid for Kean and maybe sell a few bigger earners like Keane who could be replaced by someone like Branthwaite who’s having a good loan

The last set of accounts wages to turnover ratio was down from the previous year 95% to 89%. Slight improvement but will be one of the highest in the premier league.

Last 3 seasons of loses are 44 million, 121 million and 139 million.

We won't have much wiggle room in the summer and potentially might have a transfer ban if found guilty.
