Brighton are pushing for Europe and playing lovely football every match maintaining very high standards. It would be a huge shock if forest beat them even with injuries and home advantage

Because it is 2pts to rivals rather than 3
Both are 2pts closer to being caught up than if one won
That game was one of the easier fixtures for both teams
If there is one less team to catch out of two we are almost twice as likely to drop

A draw isn’t ideal as we now need to win on Thursday to get out of the bottom three. Need a point just to keep pace. Another game gone.

Or if we win one of the next two are out the bottom three.

Points are precious, both our rivals got one tonight.

Well one of them had to. If leeds had taken all 3 tonight that was a 5 point gap. Thats a very difficult gap for this Everton team to make up with the games left. If that happened and bad scenario we get nothing on thursday. And then leicester beat us on monday we were as good as down.

A draw keep everyone close.

No ones mentioning goal difference much tonight, only points. We are worse than Leeds and Leicester. Not saying probably but possibly could let a fair few in, with no goals for againt N,castle and City.

I understand the logic of it. We probably aren’t going to finish ahead of both. This is a point more for the team we ultimately need to finish above.

I am torn. The positive is it keeps another Iron in the fire. If Leeds had won that they would be one win from safety with 5 games to go. 2 wins from 5 might be tough for them. They lose away at Bournemouth next the pressure on them will be huge with City to follow.

If we can avoid defeat against Leicester I think their run in is harder than Leeds

The result we didn’t want was Leeds winning.

Leeds winning tonight would have been tough to handle.

I mean, that was their trump card in thier run in: a home game against a team below them.

I dont see them getting a more than 3 or 4 points in their remaining games.

If we can grab a couple of wins we'll get past them. If we get the first of them on Thursday then we'll really be in business.

And neither do I think Leicester are all that either.

This Everton team, with Richarlison, Gordon and a fit DCL picked up 10 points from a possible 18 in our remaining 6 games last season.

We scored 9 goals and Richarlison scored or created 4 of them.

I am certain that 10 points this time would see us safe. But I don’t believe there is 3 wins in that set of fixtures. Take those important goals and energy away and we may get 5.
