Tbh, I'd have prefered Leeds getting nothing, but that was better than the way it was shaping up with 10 minutes to go.

A win in the next game completely transforms the dynamic between us, Leicester and Leeds.

If we got it I'd definitley believe we'll get safe. A draw keeps us very much still in there fighting. But 3 points launches us to being favourites to get out of it.
It is so crazy how not that long ago the relegation battle was between 12th to 20th and now it is 16th to 20th, had Leeds held on to that lead I think they would have been out of it. I know Bournemouth and West Ham are only 5 and 6 points away but I think they are both safe to be honest.
It is a 5 team battle now, although I think Southampton and Forest are done with Leicester (and yet again), Leeds and Everton trying to avoid the drop. It is too tough to call, probably down to the final day, great for the neutrals, a nightmare for the fans of those clubs.

How?

We do not dominate midfield with them and we don’t without them. Onana barely touches the ball in some games. Fans will be disappointed if they expect him or Doucoure coming back to transform the team.

Garner was man of the match against Crystal Palace, I would not drop him for either of them.
If you can’t see how much we have missed doucoure then I don’t know what to say.

He starts the press for us , and basically is the main reason that formation dyche likes to play works as he can cover the ground so well.

Garner is a decent enough passer of the ball but he isn’t what we need right at this moment in that midfield. We need gana , Onana and doucoure back in there with the energy they bring.

We lost 2 points to our rivals. If one team won we’d have lost 3.

It was the best possible result.
I'm satisfied with the draw, a Leeds win would have been difficult on us.

But there is a school of thought that says a Leicester win might in the long run have been more beneficial, that is if you believe Leicester given its schedule may win a few games and get clear. So if we assume Forest and Southampton are going down, it may be easier to catch Leeds if they had gotten no points from this fixture given their tough run of games at the end, we might now have an extra point to overcome to get ahead of Leeds (as opposed to if they had lost) assuming Leicester goes clear.

However, this is all conjecture, no one knows how it will play out. I agree, just go win our games and take care of our own business, that's really the most important thing. I just continue to worry about our lacking of goal scoring and if that will prevent us from getting over the line.

The teams down at the bottom are capable of losing every game. None of them are out of it until they are mathematically safe because they’re all capable of putting together a thing of defeats.

Doucoure and Onana get better the longer they are out of the side. Same as DCL. Fans are desperate for a saviour and I understand but those two are not good players.

We are limited on quality in the middle so one will have to play but both Onana and Doucoure lose the ball too often in key areas. And neither are good enough defensively. I would not drop Garner for either of them.

There’ll be surprise results on the way but if Bournemouth can avoid defeat against Leeds then it really does start looking difficult to make a case for them staying up, they’d need some shock results.

I’m not convinced Leicester will get themselves out of trouble either. If we avoid defeat against them then they’re going to have to play very well against some good teams to get the points needed.

4 points from our next two would put us in a strong position to stay up in my view.

Absolutely.

Thinking about it, if we lost against Newcastle but won against Leicester - with Leeds losing their next game v B'mouth - that would place us ahead of both on points with 4 games remaining and all three teams facing roughly the same type of run in with no real advantage.

In that sense we have two bites of the cherry here to get where we need to be with 4 games left.

It would have been a very bad result for Everton (and Leicester, of course).

But they've got to feel that's their best chance to get a win just gone out the window.

If I were a Leeds fan I'd be eyeing that Everton / Newcastle game very nervously and thinking that if Everton win it and get above Leeds they'd stay out ahead of them given their next two away games.

Oh yes Leeds and Leicester fans are going to be doing what Everton fans were doing tonight and hoping their relegation rivals don't pick up a win. It is so tight that it could even go down to goal difference so please no repeat of what Newcastle did to Spursy at the weekend.
