I have gone beyond predicting results for ourselves and others.Every day that goes by is a bonus for us when we are still in the mix.
When Maddison stepped up to take that pen I feared the worst as I think if he had scored we would of completely collapsed and bearing that in mind I was probably happy with a point.
My biggest concern is team selection and not using substitutes when needed. When Dyche came in he seemed to tighten up the defence but last night in the first half we were all over the place which is a theme since Keane has come back in he really should be no where near the team.
Also Iwobi is a dreadful player who runs around like a headless chicken giving the ball to the opposition rather than our own players.
Doucoure is a player who runs out of steam in the 70th minute and I don't understand how the manager does not see that, I am not saying don't play him as he does a job but he hits a wall and we should be ready to hook him when his legs have gone.
I do like Garner and he has to keep a place he is a positive for the future what ever happens.

Wasnt talking about waving a white flag. But the brighton of years ago doesnt mean anything to the brighton we will face now. Might aswell say we face man city. I remember them with shaun goater and ian bishop.
We have to believe we have a chance against Brighton. If not, what's the point? I think there is every chance we go down this season - but there is also a possibility we don't. So, we have a choice. Keep fighting or give up. I'd prefer to fight - not in a delusional way - but as long as we have a chance, we have to persevere.

Brighton are a far better side than us. But, if we look at the table, 18 sides are better than us. So, if we take that as gospel, we are finished. We still have a chance - not a great one, but a chance nonetheless.

Gonna be some confused and disappointed people on here when we stay up.

There not quite as stubborn as the Rafael Cult, but some doom merchants on here have surprised me.
If we were five or six points adrift of safety with four to play I could understand it. But I've been surprised with quite how much Domestos has been bulk purchased on this forum.

Half our problem is many blues think what iwobi brings is acceptable or the best we have - they do it with loads of worse than bang average, useless cowards pretending to be Everton players.

I’d start Stan Mills before this clown.

Was having this discussion with someone who sits next to me at the match against Newcastle, and they were calling him a “myth”, and watched what they said yesterday and couldn’t believe how true it was. Goes missing when it matters.

Makes runs when he’s never getting the ball, and so his stats look impressive, but reality is end product is nothing.

That performance yesterday was woeful.

2 points out of the next 3 games, should leave us just needing to beat Bournemouth to stay up. Even 1 point from those 3 games and it will be pretty close, and we could still just need a win on the last day.

That's presuming the teams around us don't pull off some unexpected results. Too close to call now would say we have just as good a chance as the other 3 teams now

Coleman's loss is huge. Utterly huge.

Our attacking options took a real knock last night.

Patterson just cant step in there. He offered nothing at RB last night again. If he's going to be played then play him further up the pitch, because he cant bomb on like Coleman does and he cant offer anything in defence other than - at best - back off and off and allow an opposition forward to the edge of our area. He was still caught out of position again and again last night and jogging back as Leicester broke and he was on the halfway line.

We need that RB berth strengthened by someone or we'll be back peddling for 90 minutes again as we were in Coleman's absence before and after his injury.
Dave, cmon man.

Coleman is a loss just for the leadership and character he brings but for you to describe Pattersons performance like this is unjustified and incorrect, and shows your disgraceful bias against the youngster.

Give me a team of pattersons over holgate, iwobi and Keane any day of the millennium.

You want the rb positions strengthened - then I say play the only fit rb by trade we have on the books.

I'm not disputing it's a big loss with Coleman out, but that was Patterson's best performance since early in the season. He'd been poor for a while, but he wasn't poor yesterday. If he can play to a similar level for 4 games, I will be happy. We need him to step up and take his chance, football is a squad game.

I just can't get to grips with Dyche's refusal to freshen things up and to try and make something happen in a game as important as that.
The Maddison miss was an omen we had some luck on our side last night and should have used it.
To think the only sub he made was a forced one due to poor Seamus's injury is criminal.
They were flagging and the game was screaming for Gray to be introduced after 60/70 minutes, but nothing.

Watch Patterson's perfomance last night: he contributed nothing meaningful going forward. His defensive game - such as it is - is to back off a player and hope he gets reinforcements around him. He never cuts out an attack further up the pitch.

He is practically no use whatsoever as a RB.

Coleman is better than him both attacking and defending.

I see what lot of other blues see about Patterson: it's hype with no substance.

If anyone thinks he did well last night when he came on they dont know football. Leicester just targetted that side all 2nd half...for a reason.

If that's his best then we are really screwed. It was a back peddling performance and he had zero impact attacking wise. The two 45 minutes (Coleman's then his) were chalk and cheese for us.

I'd put Iwobi in at RB and play Patterson further up where he can (presumably) put a cross in or two.

Just keep him away from RB.
