I think there is some of that but some others that are so stressed out by the situation that the only way they can cope is by expecting the absolute worst. Every contribution they make is framed in that context.

If you expect nothing (other than a negative outcome) then you can't be disappointed. It's the hope they can't handle.

I'm slightly concerned about the state of worry about some members here in that respect. The level of anxiety and fretfulness is just unhealthy for something none of us have a shred of control over.

It’s just nonsense though.

All the evidence shows a positive mindset leads to improved mental health, not the other way around.

Being deliberately negative only breeds further negative and depressive thoughts.

No one is gleeful for God’s sake

I can think of one poster who would be.

I`ll give you a few clues :

He has a third eye.
He is married to a blow up Katie Price doll.
He is a fifth Dan in origami.
He worships at the feet of a washed up Spanish gent.
He`s not right wing in anyway, in fact he`s a Communist, with leanings towards the centre.
He can`t park his ice cream van anywhere within chiming distance of a school.

It's even worse than that . I want them to smash our rivals when they play them to assist the GD differential. Sad , sad days
Sticking up for anyone playing the bottom 3 now. I don't wish relegation on anyone but right now just want us safe. I'd prefer 3 wins from the remaining games more though.

I agree but having a positive mental attitude isn't just something that you can turn on.
Perhaps it's me or the company that I keep but every Evertonian I know is a pessimist. It's this bloody club. Support them long enough and they grind you down and smash any expectations.
In the mid 80s I thought we would beat any team. Now I think we are just as likely to lose to any team

Narrow it down a bit, I've got half a dozen matching candidates.

Isn't that 90% of posters in 'Current Affairs' ?

The latter reminds me of Colin the energy vampire, feeding off the negativity they create. (You need to have watched ‘what we do in the shadows’ to get that reference)
Colin Robinson! Loving the analogy. Also @matty1878 has been a great poster on here and yes obviously his balloon knot has been twitching like a bunnys nose for abar 2 seasons now but haven't we all.

Personally I'd be happy at a short ban with Sean Dyches smiling grid appearing if it meant survival.

I can see Leicester getting something from the RS weirdly. They have a good record and the last few games, RS have been a bit meh however they still have picked up those wins to close in on top 4.

The walls are closing in on Leeds and Newcastle have that motivation to win.

Forest away from home are shocking but Frank Lampard is a terrible manager however that last win will steady the ship so hopefully another rival with no points this weekend.

But I am hoping City make those expected changes like they did v Fulham, West Ham and Leeds.

They will still be strong but we are full of confidence so hopeful for a point or 3 x
If Leicester concede 1st they may fall apart, Oddly Liverpool just after Xmas and Palace early April are the only 2 teams in the Prem league The Foxes have actaully took the lead against in the last 20 prem games - and those 2 they obviously led & they lost both 2-1

Since Boxing Day and they have conceded in each of the last 20 prem games

Leicester when they go behind have Lost 11
Leicester when they go behind have won 3
Leicester when they go behind have drew 4
Leicester when they go Ahead have lost 2
