Yes but it was still an opportunity. Teams have gained ground so we need arguably 2 more results in the next 2.

No such thing as a write off in this position. With a bit more quality and intensity we could have made it a different game today. I dont accept the concept of write offs.

Did Leeds not miss an opportunity by failing to beat Newcastle then? What about Forest failing to beat the worst Chelsea side ever?

Yet again, people spend all week saying we’re going to get beaten.

Yet, when arguably the best club team in Europe, if not the world beat us, they act like the world is on fire.
Absolutely no shame in losing to City. For 35 minutes we were excellent.
The problem is that we look a completely different team with DCL and if he can't play against Wolves and /or Bournemouth I fear for us.
Mykolenko gets dogs abuse on here but Holgate at left back was disastrous and again id be concerned if we go into the next 2 games without a recognised left back

It’s the manner of the defeat

And the manner of the defeat against Newcastle

Compare and contrast with Allardyce’s Leeds in those 2 games
Leeds started playing against City once they took the foot off, same as we did after the third goal

They’d also be sitting with 0 points from two games under the Count of Monte Bisto but for a lucky deflection against Newcastle

Yes they did, but they both gained ground over the weekend. We need Leicester to drop points tomorrow because we need it to remain in our own hands.

Today was a chance for points so its a missed opportunity. If we go down its not at all because of this result but we still could have got something from today.

ffs Tim we've just played one of the best sides in Europe.

Losing against Fulham, drawing against Leicester or Palace, they're missed opportunities but getting played off the park by City definitely isn't a missed opportunity.
Every home game we lost was a chance of picking up something. This game is not the reason we are where we are but there was something there for us today, especially first half but we just lacked that same spark we had Monday.

Teams gained ground so its not a good weekend but we need to hope the reds get something or its out of our hands.
