One point at Wolves will be fine and is realistic. 3 more against Bournemouth and we are OK with 36pts. The others won't match that.

I’d rather it be the other way round, but yeah, I totally agree. I think 4 points will be enough.

I think Forest will get two draws, and that means even if Leeds win our, we’d stay up at their expense.

Just crucial we don’t lose on Saturday.

….that was sounding good until you said; ‘football people like Thelwell’. He needs to go, leaving us without an effective striker for TWO windows clearly illustrates he’s not a ‘football person’, indeed he describes himself as a Line Manager. We need a DoF who knows his footballers.
Fair enough, more broadly though I just want competent people in their roles who are actually allowed to do their jobs. That’s not been the case for far too long. I suspect Brands would’ve been far, far better had he not been operating hogtied.

If we're only measuring success on whether you win the league or not, we might as well all pack up and choose another hobby. I think this is nonsense.

Winning a cup - particularly the FA Cup - is massive still.
The FA Cup hasn't been massive since the last century. As soon as United pulled out of their defence to play a Mickey Mouse FIFA cup in Brazil it was over.

League championships have ALWAYS been the barometer of success. Cups used to be prestigious. But when measuring greatness, it's league titles that count. This is why the Tottenham Hotspur side of the early 1980s - FA Cup winners in 1981 and 1982 and UEFA Cup winners in 1984 - is not mentioned in the same breath as any league champion side of the same era, despite their success. They are considered "a good cup side", but true greatness is measured in consistency, and the league has always been the arbiter of that.

That Spurs side won more than the great Ipswich Town side of the same era - winner of the 1978 FA Cup and 1981 UEFA Cup - but Ipswich are considered a far greater side because they were excellently consistent in the league during those years (being runners-up twice and finishing third once). The league is where it is at.

What results tonight for Newcastle and WHam mean that Leeds are definitely safe???

Or does it not matter either way as they are aleatory the best team down there with the best manager…

What is everyones picks for the relegation threatened teams this weekend?

I think Forest and Leicester lose to Arsenal and Newcastle respectively, I think we will get a win at Wolves and Leeds get a win at West Ham. Still leaves us in the last day lottery unless Leeds lose....

Best case scenario is we win with Leeds and Leicester lose, we would be safe going in to the last weekend.

Best not start asking for predictions now…. It’s frowned upon in here.

No one knows (except that Leeds will win both games) is the right answer.

Have a day off pal it's Thursday
1st post in about a week... 1st reply NEGATIVE.... Negativity breeds negativity.

So you have a day off and let the people who want to discuss the relegation issue in THE RELEGATION THREAD carry on doing so without being a negative tit.

I wasn't being negative. I was telling you to have a day off, maybe just not think about Everton until a point where things can actually change (Saturday).

😂

I think Leeds will get a win in the last 2, not sure they will get 2 though... Just got a really good feeling we are going to beat Wolves.

I`m praying Leeds, Forest and Leicester lose which will see us safe without the agony of the last day.

As if anything said in this forum affects what happens on the pitch... surely you are not as naive to believe it will.

I want the win and think we should go for it, and a point would be ok if Leeds dont win (& Leicester obviously who shouldnt really), but obviously that means waiting 24 hours (and more) and hoping
Leeds beating West Ham is the only worry I have.

Leicester will get nothing at Newcastle; Forest will get nothing against Arsenal.

If Leeds dont beat West Ham I'd see them as heavy favourites to go down with Leicester.
