I am convinced these players are still playing for Lampard and giving their all. That is the worst thing about it.

If players are not fighting then sometimes changing manager will help. But I think that these players are fighting as hard as they can, they just are not very good, collectively or individually.
That’s the scary party.

And that’s why abusing them inside and outside of the ground and intimidating them etc simply won’t help matters.

We as a fanbase need to wise up.

Having said all that, a good manager could get more out of these lads than Frank. His tactics are literally non-existent.

If we get relegated, we’ll come back. Villa did, Leeds did, West Ham did, Newcastle did, City did.

It’s not desirable, but it is survivable. I was more worried last season because of tgd amount ic players on big contracts that couldn’t be sold. At the end of this season the situation will be very different. Quite a few contracts end. A few players will be sold.

If will be a wake-up call for the club and tts fan base. Sometimes everything has to be completely broken before it can be rebuilt. I think Everton are in that position now. The club hierarchy needs dismantling, the squad needs overhauling and the fans need perspective.

In the end, what will be will be.

There’s not a worse attack in the league, in fact these lot would struggle in the championship.

This is what happens when your happy to see quality driven out the squad for the likes of Gray and Townsend and start screaming from the rooftops about how brilliant Alex Iwobi is.

We are down, simply for allowing the team to be stripped of any genuine footballing ability

Relegation is going to be evil, but so will the Championship. Administration and a diabolical team will see us closer to League One than the PL.

Is it his tactics or is it the limitations of the players? We play with a CF but have wide players that can’t cross. That does not change whoever is in charge.

Our biggest threat is from set pieces as we saw yesterday. A different manager playing in a more pragmatic way might be able to get some more 0-0’s and maybe a few more 1-0’s but it is not going to dramatically improve.

There were only 3-4 teams with significantly worse attacks than us last season and that was before we sold our best player and broke DCL.

The team needs investment, new players, more than it needs a new manager (though it probably needs one of those too).

Its 100 percent tactics.

Saints replaced their managed and have had two positive results in the bounce. We will be stuck with Lampard until relegation is confirmed.
Southampton fans wanted him out before this past week, they were still calling him out on Social Media at half time of yesterday’s game

Will BMD really be that much smaller than Anfield? I thought Anfield only had a relatively small capacity compared to your Old Traffords etc that are at 76,000.

Either way, if we end up in the lower leagues I can see one of the big clubs (which we won’t then be) co-opting the BMD stadium and using us as a feeder club. But it won’t be the RS. Maybe someone like Man City or Man Utd. Can’t see even Mosh allowing the RS to buy our ground.
My mistake. Anfield is going to about 61k after their latest expansion.

So, forgetting the tactics, this group of players isn’t one of the worst three in the league and should be doing better?
They are by no means a great group of players in that in terms of balance many of players just don't compliment each other hence it's a bit of mishmash of a squad. However even a manager/coach with a basic-average level of tactical knowledge on how to setup a team properly would be able to get this lot to pick up a few draws here and there. If we could get someone who is an average-good level tactician we might actually climb a few places in the league imo.

This situation was inevitable when the crazy overspending started. Year on year losing huge sums and hoping for success to mitigate the FFP constraints.

Well it’s come home to roost.

We should have built the stadium first before ramping up the spending. Morshiri tried to buy our way into the top six without the corresponding increase in turnover. It was always a risk.

We went from being a club that knew how to live within its means to one that could only survive by overspending.

I am not absolving Lampard of blame. He needs to leave. But he is maybe 20% of the reason we are in the position we are. 80% is due to us carrying 7-8 players (in any team we pick) who are just not good enough for the Premier League. I think most of them are really trying, they just are not very good Footballers.

A more pragmatic manager, like Dyche, could get this team more defensively organised (whether that is enough to save us, who knows) but he is still working with the same players. The team needs 2-3 fresh players, right now, whoever the manager is.
