There’s not a worse attack in the league, in fact these lot would struggle in the championship.

This is what happens when your happy to see quality driven out the squad for the likes of Gray and Townsend and start screaming from the rooftops about how brilliant Alex Iwobi is.

We are down, simply for allowing the team to be stripped of any genuine footballing ability
That’s the worst thing for me, everyone just sat back and allowed James to be sold despite him saying countless times he wanted to play, the situ with Iceland (that no one still has a clue if it was him or if it’s even gone to trial) then Digne getting sold for asking to be used more in an attacking sense

We couldn’t afford to keep him. We lost £130m. We have been living way beyond our means.

Well said.

We are in the poo, but we can still get out. I believe we will. My biggest worry is the board as they seem to have an agenda, no idea what it is? but there is something very wrong at play with them as yesterdays lies show.

I mean it’s looking dire but we still have a full half of the season to go. No cup distractions and time to bring players in/change manager.

57 points left to play for.

We're in 'need a miracle' territory now. The absolute bare minimum over the last two weeks was to not lose to Wolves and Southampton. We failed. There just aren't enough winnable games for this squad left.

The only miracle that can save the club is a petrostate buying us in the next few days. We spend on players and get a half decent manager in. It isn't going to happen.

Villa fan in peace. Decided to post when I read numerous references to our relegation and throw in my 2 cents to what it meant for us.

First of all, the initial shock is a disaster. Honest everyday people who work for the club behind the scenes will be the first to lose. The parachute payments if spent correctly, along with the “brand” of being such a big club with a rich history allow you to attract better talent than most championship clubs can do in that sense the first couple of seasons down there are your best shot to get back up. After that all bets are off.

Fwiw the times in the championship were some of the most fun I’ve ever had as a villa fan. Going to grounds you never would, being a big scalp and seeing other teams raise their game against you at villa park, having win percentages and winning runs I’ve never seen villa do in the premier league. When we got promoted I think we went on a 10 game winning run, I’d never seen my team do that before.

Where we differ is the stadium situation. I have no idea what the implications of that will be. You would think that you’ll need to find some creative ways to finance that as it’s clearly beyond the means of a championship budget.

Hope you guys manage to sort this mess out but whatever happens the club will survive it. It’s bad but it’s not the end.
