Not buying that, we could have sold fringe players, but no the manager got rid of creative talent over a petty grudge
We couldn’t sell anyone. That was the problem. We filled the squad with over paid unshiftable players.

We made losses of £130m for three seasons in a row. Selling fringe players wasn’t enough.

We managed to move Bernard Banengane and James. We had a negative net spend.

Whether you’re buying it or not, that’s the reality.

Wish I had some of what you're on. I literally can't see us winning another game this season. It's like "go 1-0 up, panic, concede twice, panic subs, lose" - and that's during a GOOD performance
Yes that does seem to be the pattern.

No way this team wins 8 games between now and the end of the season.

I'll remove Forest from the list...

Southampton, Everton, Bournemouth... possibly Leeds in the dogfight.

But your bottom 3 will include us.

Yeah, sure, there's half a season left. Of course we can get out of it. But when you look at the fixtures we have just blown by holding on to a failed manager (Wolves, Brighton, Southampton), we've lost direct six-pointers against two of our direct rivals. That's disastrous.

In the past, we sacked managers after hidings against top sides. We had the "easier" fixtures to fall back on when we got the new guy in. Now? We've just burned through the "easier" games and now face a series of "expected defeats".

When you add in that the board is now officially at war with the fans, Kenwright will never set foot in Goodison again, Moshiri is AWOL, and Usmanov sanctioned, there are absolutely no grounds for optimism. We're in the worst shape I can recall in my 43 years supporting this club - yes, worse even than the tortuous inertia of the Walter years.

We're enduring a toilet brush of a perfect storm and, I fear, will be relegated at last, much to the delight of the rest of the country. In truth, we have become the unflushable turd of the Premier League. But this time, I don't see us clinging on in the deep recesses of the toilet pipes. Barkeep! Domestos all round!

Just looking at what the PL standings were after 19 games last year. Leeds Utd survived and they were on 16 (one more than us), Newcastle had 11 (but good coaching and a fresh injection of cash allowed them to recover) Burnley had 19 points but went down. Norwich and Watford both went down with 10 and 14 points respectively at the same stage.

The final relegation place landed on 35 points, there is no guarantee it will be the same this season, but is this is a barometer then this is not insurmountable - perspective and a plan, is required, but not panic. It becomes far more difficult however if the Goodson faithful become hostile witnesses to gain any traction at home. Respectful process - yes, anti social or disorderly protest - no.

I agree with everything you say except "to the delight of the rest of the country". I don't think that many people care about us one way or the other. We don't challenge or offend anyone anymore. We're just there. Barely noticeable except to ourselves.

Oh, wait for the blubbing in the Gwladys Street End on the day we go down at home. Porn for the rest of the league.

We will start to be cut adrift if we lose next week. Then we have games v Arsenal and Liverpool. Could easily find ourselves 5-6 points from safety.

I think we're gone now. We had Wolves, Brighton, and Southampton in the last three weeks to get ourselves in position to successfully avoid the drop. Lost the lot. At home. The writing is on the wall in indelible ink.
