Rather than look at it that way I think it is better to look at it from the perspective of needing to match or better the points each week of Saints, Bournemouth and Leeds. I think that sounds much more manageableListening to Andy Gray earlier and he said something that put things into real perspective
‘To stay up Everton need 25pts, not sure if this team can get 25pts’
I went through our remaining fixtures (pragmatic approach) and I struggled to get to 25
Appreciate other teams in our position, but still frightening
I know we are screwed, but putting it this way made it more real
Thanks. Best of luck for the rest of season too (except against us, we need the points ).yes he was a good appointment but I think there are a lot of good managers out there and I think fans often forget that the PL is the most desired league to work in in the world and there are only 20 jobs as manager available. The pulling power of this league is not to be underestimated. But it was the timing that did it for Villa, sack Slippy, and have 6 weeks of preseason with the players halfway through the season. I am very surprised you and Hammers didn't do similar as it seemed such an obvious time to sack the manager if there were any doubts.
Anyway, best of luck for the rest of the season, if u dont sack Frank, I don't think any amount of luck will help though
"If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all" from Born Under a Bad Sign recorded by Albert King and then Cream in the late sixties and soon to replace Z Cars at Goodison. We never have any luck except for bad luck.

Maybe if we moved Lampard up front we'll save ourselves. The worrying thing for me is Southampton have got Prowse, Leeds have got Gnonto, West Ham have got Ings & Rice, Forest have Lingaard, Wolves have Cunha. Where is our superstar to save us? Calvert-Lewis cannot do it all himself.
We got lucky at Brentford when they missed 3 sitters, lucky at Fulham when we were awful, loads of other results have gone for us over the winter. We’re fortunate we still have the opportunity to put it right. We never have any luck except for bad luck.
That's my concern. Only Wolves have scored fewer goals than us this season. Stating the obvious here, but if you don't score goals you don't win matches.I don't think this team is going to even win three more games this season.
With the lack of goals I can see a few 0-0s and 1-1s with a new manager bounce (similar to August-September) but trouble is plucky draws aren't going to move you out of the bottom 3 anytime soon.
Lose the next two as looks pretty certain and you're talking 15 points from 22 games and a very bad GD. Has a team ever stayed up with so few points after 22 games? Perhaps that Leicester team who did that miracle run the year before they won the league but would be amazed if many more have done it.
You're talking about needing 20 points from the last 16 games just to have any chance of staying up given 35-36 points is always boderline.
I think it's beyond whoever comes in next although I'm sure they'll give it a go and try to shake things but club has just been in a desperate malaise since mid October and now looks even worse than last season at both ends which is some effort.

Totally right. I can't believe we are so close to safety. We got lucky at Brentford when they missed 3 sitters, lucky at Fulham when we were awful, loads of other results have gone for us over the winter. We’re fortunate we still have the opportunity to put it right.
