I think we will know our fate within about 5 matches.

We can write off the next 2 games in terms of having any hope (City away proved we may be capable of getting a draw in one, but very unlikely).

From the next 3 after the RS, we need 5-7 points with Leeds and Villa at Home, and Forest away. If we pick up less than 5 in them we will have too big a hill to climb. It's also important against Leeds and Forest we hurt them by winning or at least a draw in one of them. We cannot keep losing to these sides scrapping at the bottom - we have already given ourselves an extremely difficult task with losing the games we have recently rather than grinding out draws.

We are the gift that keeps on giving. Everyone wants to play us to get a three pointer.
We should be re-named Everton Football Philanthropy Club. Have said for years that clubs in trouble must look at the fixture list and mark off the days until they play us.

Like the old terrace chant goes...'Can we play you every week!'

It is and has always been the same. Remember Oxford (A) in 1986 which effectively handed the title to the RS.

Its going to be ugly but points on the  board (I hate that word!) is the most important thing to us now and, dare I suggest, as a minimum if we do not get 12 points out of the next 24 points achievable leaving us with a potential 30 points still to fight for then we deserve to go down.

The ignominy of GP serving up second tier footie next season is nothing short of a disgrace...but it will still be sold out if only for the emotional side.

We took another giant step towards relegation today. Sacking Lampard in itself will make no difference at all, but the timing of it couldn't possibly of been worse. We've sacked him at the worst possible time and left his replacement in an even worse situation. We actually deserve relegation as a club at this point. The morons who run us have absolutely destroyed us. I don't think I've ever seen a club so badly run before. We're like a case study in how not to run a professional football club.

A good manager keeps us up.

Lampard = No chance of survival
Sacking him = small chance of survival

No good manager will touch us. We have absolutely no chance of survival now. None at all. The utter morons running us should've sacked Lampard pre world cup if they were going to do it. By waiting till now, they've left his successor absolutely no chance at all. There is no time to do anything in the transfer window, nothing.

That's the point no one will touch us. I'm vaulted to say we'd never get relegated now we is daffy ducked. Do agree with most posts. But ultimately boards fault.

How do you work this out?

Why do you think the timing is so bad now?

Because if we'd sacked Lampard pre or during the world cup, we would've had time for his successor to plan ahead for the Jan transfer window. It would've given his successor time to focus on winning all the very winnable games that we've squandered since the season restarted. As things are, we've wasted both. We've put the next guy in the worst possible position.

Every game that ticks by the situation looks worse. I would say we need 25 points to be assured of survival in the league. We have 18 games left to get those points and at the moment I cant see us getting them. Last season we stayed up on 39 points and could have stayed up on 36. But even that, can you see us getting 21 points? 7 more wins?

Danjuma is comfortably better than him looking at their respective records so wouldn't worry too much about that.

Amazed Southampton haven't got in another CF given how mediocre their current options are. Orsic can score but he's more of a wide forward.
