17 games to go.

We're on 18 points.

22 points gets us to the traditional safety 40 points. (Unlikely to need 40, 36 was safety 21/22, 29 in 20/21, 35 in 19/20)

6 Wins. 7 Defeats. 4 Draws is 40 points.

8 Home.
9 Away.

Liverpool A
Leeds United H
Aston Villa H
Nottingham Forest A
Brentford H
Chelsea A
Tottenham H
Man Utd A
Fulham H
Crystal Palace A
Newcastle H
Leicester A
Brighton A
Man City H
Wolves A
Bournemouth H

Arsenal A - TBC

Said it for a bit, if we can get 4 wins or 3 at worst from mid Feb - mid March - we will go a long way,

Next 5 are crucial, will show how tough its gonna be

There will be ups and downs but i think we will stay up under Dyche. He oozes experience and confidence with this kind of situation and i think he will know how to accumulate enough points out of the 17 remaining games to keep us safe. He is like a snooker player i.e a couple of shots ahead and has already been studying Leeds and will no doubt be looking at Villa before the Leeds game.

Agreed. But I incorrectly thought lampard might have gone to early at that stage, and a transfer window might have changed things - and it was another managerial merry go round happeneing. After the Brighton match think we all saw the change was needed.
Leeds and Southampton are shopping in the same pool as us and there is t a lot of managers available. Dyche would have taken one of those jobs if we hadn’t acted.
Bielsa back to Leeds would lift a lot of people though.
There are actually plenty of decent managers about, the issue for us is we couldn't pay a compensation package and also we always go for managers with "PL experience" If we had been prepared to look abroad there were plenty of options and good ones. I'm sure Dyche will be enough to see us through and keep us in the league for now and then see what state we are in come the summer time as the squad will need a bit of a reshape imo and he will need to be backed and backed properly.

No the worst that will happen is a massive fine like £50m+ then a transfer ban for a couple of years
If they’ve been cheating the league season after season 50m barely touches the sides. They made 164m in prize / tv money last season alone. Minimum I’d be looking for if I was the other clubs is 50% of prize money paid back for each season they cheated, to be split between the clubs that were in the league that season. It would be an enormous fine but if they have to sell off players to pay it then so be it.

West Ham were relegated with 40 points and 38 points hasn't been enough for a couple of teams, but in the last 28 years or so since we went to 38 game seasons only 5 times didn't get you safe (with 38 points).

20 points from 17 games is going to be a real dog-fight. A draw here and there will be useful, but Dyche is going to have to maybe get more adventurous than he's used to being and go for broke in some games to get those 20 points.

I don't see that much happening with it tbh, at the end of the day City will have a team of the best lawyers in the world behind them (far better and far more than the PL can afford) who will no doubt argue the toss and probably blow the whole system up for the farce that it is. Id actually rather see a prolonged transfer ban myself. A number of their players are getting on in years and it would mean they have to rely on their youth setup for a while.
